Watch the bizarre, lively music video for Cassius, Pharrell, and Cat Power’s ‘Go Up’

In June of 2016, Philippe Cerboneschi and Hubert Blanc-Francard released Ibifornia, their fourth studio album as Cassius and the first to be released in 10 years. Released on Busy P’s Ed Banger imprint, the blithe LP featured three collaborations with vocalist Cat Power, not the least of which was “Go Up,” which also featured Pharrell Williams as a singer. Though the disco-inspired track wasn’t as highly publicized as Pharrell’s recent collaborations with another French duo of the more robotic variety, it did generally meet critical acclaim.

Almost a year after the release of Ibifornia, Cassius have shared the official music video for “Go Up.” Directed by Alexandre Courtes, the music video for the single is split into dual screens for its entirety. Combining disjointed scenes of animals, religious imagery, mundane societal activities, and risqué acts, the music video provides a unique backdrop to the vibrant collaboration.
