Last year, LA underground rap phenom Azad dropped his delectably poignant A Very Emotional EP, including the somber single “Ready.” Produced by Stwo, the original featured Azad’s honest lyricism gliding over a slick downtempo beat.

Now “Ready” has been reinterpreted by prolific Boston producer Sevnth, known for consistently churning out top-notch R&B and hip-hop flips. For his spin on “Ready,” however, Sevnth takes a left turn, upping the tempo and crafting a groovy dance number that aptly blends, trap, house, and disco into a unified assemblage.
