Premiere: Lee Walker – The Way Up (Lee Walker & Huxley Remix)

Lee Walker is far from a “one hit wonder.” After Walker’s famed DJ Deeon-assisted remix of his own “Freak Like Me” called attention to him from the dance world at large, he’s continued on a tangent of making quality house tunes that are continually rinsed on dance floors worldwide. The producer’s most recent body of work – a tantalizing four-tracker, titled The Way Up – has found a home on Huxley’s No Idea’s Original, a rightful place for its club-ready aura.

Perhaps the biggest standout comes from Walker’s own take on the EP’s eponymous opener, “The Way Up.” Working alongside the label boss himself, the two have created an energetic, pumping re-interpretation whose hearty, thumping kicks and intriguing samples make it difficult not to move. Set at a high tempo, the piece is fit more peak time in sets and will more than likely be lighting up dance-floors throughout the summer club season.

Furthermore, it most certainly draws attention to the fact that Lee Walker and Huxley are clearly a match made in heaven.
