Slushii releases ‘Sleep’ after announcing bout of depression on Twitter

Slushii’s swift rise to international fame has impacted him drastically. The young star recently wiped out the vast majority of his Twitter, later citing depression and overall toxicity from social media as his reason for silence as of late. That said, he reassured followers, he’ll be coming back “stronger than ever.”

It appears as though the LA native is already plotting his return, taking to his “Archives” account on SoundCloud to show off his newest piece, “Sleep.” Mellow as ever, the piece starts off in a blissful manner with a gentle synth hook and ethereal piano chords.

“Sleep” serves as one of Slushii’s most unique pieces to date, incorporating eclectic elements and smooth vocal samples that make the finished product almost reminiscent of a Porter Robinson production. It leaves the listener feeling relaxed and cathartic upon its end; quite different than the usual “turn up” mood one feels when going through his repertoire. Indeed, his return is looking to be quite strong.
