V-Moda releases customizable Codex Edition headphones

High-end audio product manufacturer V-Moda expands its line of listening products with a Codex Edition of its Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones. The newly announced Codex Edition supports additional codecs, and in a credit to  customization unique to the Codex Edition, purchasers of the special edition variant will have the ability to personalize their ear wear with 3D printing or laser engraving, offered at Best Buy Magnolia and Microsoft stores, and included in the price of the Codex Edition. Those interested in taking advantage of the customization options can do so both in store and online at Microsoft and BestBuy’s respective websites.

The Codex Edition technologically diverges from the Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones in that the Codex can support SBC, AAC, and aptX. The Crossfade 2 Wireless only functioned with SBC and aptX. The Codex Edition will additionally be available in all colors, whereas the Crossfade 2 Wireless retailed in rose gold.

When it comes to price, the Codex Edition and the Crossfade Wireless 2 each weigh in at $350. V-Moda will entice current owners of the Crossfade Wireless 2 headphones to upgrade to the Codex Edition via their limited time trade-in program, which will allow Wireless 2 users to swap their older versions with the Codex Edition for $100. Crossfade Wireless 2 owners can also exchange the first generation Crossfade Wireless for the Codex Edition for $150.
