Future – Mask Off (Marshmello Remix)

During his epic rise to the top of the electronic music world, Marshmello had established two defining features: his iconic mallow mask and a twist on bass that is perfect for a party and never takes itself too seriously. The mysterious producer’s latest is both a continuation and departure from these identifying qualities.

Marshmello‘s sense of mischief is still evident, given that he is remixing Future‘s “Mask Off.” Puns notwithstanding, the remix also marks a departure from the classic Marshmello sound. He crafts a beat to match the vibe of Future’s languid verses before building to an uptempo, Jersey-club inspired drop, complete with the triplet kick drums and ubiquitous bedspring sample.
