The Alchemist digs up unreleased Mobb Deep track, ‘Try My Hand’ to honor Prodigy

Mobb Deep member Prodigy’s passing in June from sickle-cell anemia complications shook the music world, leading to many past and present peers to pay tribute to his work and contributions to the industry. The Alchemist, longtime collaborator of the rap outfit, has fished out an unreleased track by the group titled “Try My Hand.”

“Try My Hand’s” underlying piano chords add a poignant touch to the finished product, suiting the general sorrow around Prodigy’s passing. Meanwhile, the since-passed talent’s lyrics flow smoothly along, reminding fans once more of his lyrical aptitude.

“Try My Hand” was originally released as part of The Alchemist’s double LP with Budgie, The Good Book, Vol. 2, but has been since been shared on Soundcloud to allow further listening access.
