Brennen Grey is quickly becoming a household name in the West Coast underground. The rising techno producer has hit a wave of recent success, receiving consistent support from veterans like Carl Cox and Sian, as well as performing from the Drumcode stage at EDC last month.
Now Grey is primed for his biggest mark yet, with his debut EP, Get Down. The California-based producer returns to Sian’s Octopus Black imprint for the release — a natural home for his devastating brand of techno. The EP features five tracks in total: four originals and one remix from Andre Crom. The tracks span the gamut of dark, minimal tech, to tribal inspired pieces like “Ritual Sacrifice.”
Relentlessly pummeling, the EP consists of steadfast dancefloor material that appears clearly designed with dark warehouses and savvy afterhours crowds in mind. Ultimately, the EP signals a firm declaration of Brennen Grey’s intent, and a surefire mark of his promising talent.
