DA Premiere: Mark Reeve – Don’t You Want My Love
Drumcode alumni Mark Reeve has found his way onto Pig&Dan‘s Elevate imprint for his latest release, a two-tracker by the name of Don’t You Want My Love.
He opens the EP with an infectiously groovy and anthemic title track, whose nature is enhanced by soulful, classic-inspired vocal samples and a downward melodic progression played out by subtle synths that spark a fist-pumping desire within each listener it touches. Meanwhile, a percussive underlay adds body and a hint of darkness to “Don’t You Want My Love,” making it adaptable to both day and night parties. The piece pays homage to Reeves roots in the UK underground, and thus carries a timeless atmosphere.
