Frank Ocean documentary may be in the works

A new cross-medium collaboration may be in the works that is sure to get fans excited

Spike Jonze, the filmmaker Being John Malkovich and Where The Wild Things Are, among others, has been spotted at several Frank Ocean performances, most recently the Lovebox Festival in East London’s Victoria Park, where he was spotted tracking the mercurial artist with a handheld camera. The footage captured by Jonze was broadcast to the big screens on the side of the stage while the artist was performing — while presumably being captured separately for Jonze’s own use at a later date.

The director has been the centre of a rumor concerning the production of a live-album film around Frank Ocean’s latest album, Blonde. While official announcement has not yet been made, fans point out the presence of Jonze at several of Ocean’s performances as evidence that the two artists have bigger plans in the works.

It’s impossible to tell now, but here’s to hoping that these rumors are true and people can enjoy not only new music from Frank Ocean, but a live-album documentary from Spike Jonze to go along with it.
