Mau5trap celebrates 10 year anniversary with jam-packed club event

With years of producing and performing across the world, Joel Zimmerman not only created an internationally-recognized persona for himself, but quickly grew as a mentor and idol to aspiring producers around the world. Reminiscing upon the days after of “Ghosts N’ Stuff”, the Canadian producer divulged a plethora of twists and turns in his career, as well as some of his secrets of musical production. From the tranquil yet redolent synths of “Strobe” that unexpectedly plagued listeners minds with twists of nostalgia, to the dynamic composition of burning electro chords fused with the vibrating bass-line of “Some Chords”, Zimmerman has shown his talents to be nothing short of fabricating mellifluous masterpieces.

Amongst his major success in the music industry as an artist, Joel expanded his legacy and formed his own record label by the name of mau5trap. Associated closely with his stage name, deadmau5 has acquired a variety of widespread talent under the label roster since it’s formation in 2007. Currently fostering the growth and success of artists like Rezz, and Feed Me, mau5trap has shown no sign of slowing down.

Approaching it’s ten-year anniversary, mau5trap is set to host it’s prodigious celebration party not far from the heart of Zimmerman’s hometown. REBEL, the latest of Toront’s mega-clubs, will be home for the monumental event. Bringing in Rezz, BlackGummy, Matt Lange, ATTLAS, Monstergetdown, and, of course, mau5 himself to headline this event, Canadian fans are given the chance to be a part of a once in-a-lifetime event.

Speaking exclusively to Dancing Astronaut ahead of her debut album Mass Manipulation, Rezz touched on the impact that Zimmerman had not only on her life, but on the growth of dance music:

“I mean I’m sure it would still be big and be popular still but without Joel a lot of really great, inspiring artists probably wouldn’t exist! I think I would have started making music either way but not sure I would have felt the same urgency had it not been for him.”
