VIDEO: Pasquale Rotella previews new Middlelands venue
In a recent Snapchat story, Insomniac CEO and industry legend Pasquale Rotella gave fans a sneak peak at the possible new venue for Middlelands Music Festival in 2018.
Festival goers were blown away by the incredibly immersive and wildly unique atmosphere of this one of a kind medieval themed music festival in 2017. However, despite hugely encouraging feedback from attendees and artists alike, local residents complained about the noise in a town hall meeting earlier this year. In response to the public outcry from the community, the Texas Renaissance Festival, which hosted Middlelands in Todd Mission, Texas, decided not to further its support for the festival in 2018.
Never one to quit, Rotella has now gone in search of a new and equally appealing venue for the festival next year. In an undisclosed location, somewhere in the middle of America, Rotella gave fans a sneak peak of the venue.
It is no secret that the current music landscape has become dominated by multi-day festivals and each year ever more music festivals sprout up seemingly out of nowhere. As one of the most anticipated new festivals on the block, Middlelands seemed to be one concept that actually lived up to its hype.
The medieval themed party was lauded for its peculiarity and innovation in a field that has had issues. With events like TomorrowWorld and Counterpoint closing up shop as well as failed experiments like Fyre Festival grabbing headlines. Hopefully, Rotella will find the perfect place for Renaissance ravers to flock to next year.
