Moroccan festival held on Game of Thrones set is back for second year

With the imminent return of Game of Thrones on HBO comes MOGA Festival‘s timely announcement of their second installment. The festival takes place in Morocco’s beachside city of Essaouria, which doubles as Astapor and King’s Landing in the popular TV series.

MOGA Festival will take place from October 13-15 in the idyllic location with techno as well as Moroccan, African and Maghrebian music as the focal point. Venues including Skala du Port (as seen in Game of Thrones), Sofitel Mogador, the French Institute, the Dar Souiri cultural center and Taros Café will be transformed during the destination festival. New additions to MOGA include movies, workshops, exhibitions and talks for patrons to enjoy.

The lineup for this year’s edition of the festival has yet to be announced; last year Âme, DJ Tennis, M.A.N.D.Y., and Magda were among those who made the trek to Essaouria.

Tickets to MOGA can be purchased here.
