MUST LISTEN: Avicii is back with the refreshing ‘AVĪCI’

Today marks the first time that global powerhouse player Avicii has released new music since 2015.

After eight exhausting years of intensive touring around the world, Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, announced he was stepping down from the stage. Rumors began to swirl. In hindsight, Berling was simply burnt out.

Shortly after Avicii announced his early and unexpected retirement, Tim went on a rejuvenating journey across the States with his closest friends. It was during this transformational journey that Bergling was driven back to the joy of doing what had always meant the most to him — musical composition.

Today, Avicii releases his highly-anticipated EP, AVĪCI. Berling comments on the new EP,

“I’m really excited to be back with music once again, it has been a long time since I released anything and a long time since I was this excited over new music! My focus on this first EP of the album was to get a mix of new and old songs, some that fans have been asking about/waiting for mixed with brand new songs that they haven’t heard before!”

The project is a totally refreshed and reenergized take on his happy, upbeat progressive style, featuring collaborations with Rita Ora, AlunaGeorge, Billy Raffoul, Vargas & Lagola and Sandro Cavazza.
