Avicii discusses new EP and a potential return to live performances in new interview
A few days ago, Avicii released a refreshing 6-track EP, AVĪCI, which marked the end of a two year production hiatus. Having already announced his retirement from touring due to health issues, fans hope that this new EP will mark a new chapter in Tim Berling’s illustrious career.
In a recent interview with Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1, Avicii shed light on his life after retirement as a professional DJ — an experience he described as “awesome,” adding that he had almost forgotten what it was like to “live normally.” Post a three month mental reset in Africa, Avicii returned to the studio and started working on his latest EP — which he goes on to talk about in detail, and will be succeeded by two more in the coming months.
Intriguingly, Avicii refuses to completely rule out a potential return to live performances, but said he would like to feel “normal before making any decision,” especially since he felt so “happy” and “stress-free” post his retirement.
