Launchpad: Chill tunes for chill times

Item Image

Launchpad is a playlist series showcasing music we love, hand selected by our staff. The tracks come from both emerging and mainstream artists; it’s all about the quality and the unexpected. If you’d like your music featured in Launchpad, submit it for consideration here.

Sometimes you just want to relax. Well, search no further for a soundtrack to such a mood, this week’s Launchpad playlist has you covered. Narrowing in on the indie electro and nudisco genres, you’ll find a varied collection of electronic productions under soothing, hypnotic vocals. We know it’s not always easy to relax, but hopefully this playlist will help make that happen.

DA Launchpad Selects:

NEW ARTIST ALERT! Los Angeles’ BAER (by way of Taiwan) is one you should watch out for. The singer comes through with an incredibly groovy track on “What Does It Matter,” her first release in a year. BAER clearly has a very talented production team working with her, because every element of the song is top notch, from her vocals to the synth-heavy downtempo production.

Reminiscent of other male-female duos like Sofi Tukker or AlunaGeorge, DAVVN (pronounced “Dawn”) sticks with the proven formula of really strong production combined with haunting, siren-like vocals to round things out. The duo has just released their second single to the public, “Hold This Love” and they’re clearly on to something big.
