Kelvin Beato of Lash releases first original, ‘I’m Gonna Be There’

Kelvin Beato grew up in a poverty-stricken town in the Dominican Republic. He learned how to make beats on a café computer, unable to afford his own gear. But Beato has come a long way since those café days. As half of duo Lash with Omar Andino, Beato received global recognition with a remix of Galantis‘ hit track “Runaway,” which broke 6 million streams on SoundCloud and reached No. 1 on the Hype Machine charts. He also went on to put out official remixes for Morgan Page, Hayley Kiyoko, Parson James and more. His remix of Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez‘s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” amassed more than 10 million streams globally and was featured on Puth’s YouTube channel.

Now, Beato has released his debut original work with “I’m Gonna Be There.” The track includes catchy vocals, vibrantly fresh synths, and piano riffs that provide listeners with a tropical house sound bringing back some end-of-summer beach vibes. “I’m Gonna Be There,” which took “a year and a half to complete” according to Lash’s SoundCloud description, also holds some meaning in telling “the story about a couple enduring life and its challenges, but no matter what speed bumps they hit, they’re always going to be there for each other.”
