Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, better known as Lindstrøm, is releasing his first solo album in five years, It’s Alright Between Us As It Is, on October 20 via Smalltown Supersound.
In the spirit of the anticipated release, he’s shared a new avant-garde, sweeping disco number off the album titled “Bungl (Like a Ghost).” The track features the critically acclaimed Norwegian artist Jenny Hval. Lindstrøm has even gone on to describe the latest number as “the glue to the album.”
“If it wasn’t for ‘Bungl,’ the album would not have happened. Jenny’s contribution transformed an unfinished idea into something really special,” he says.
Hval herself added, “I recorded some vocals over this little baroque piece, and for some reason I felt like I was invading it, or haunting it. I felt like the ghost voice from classic literature.”
“Bungl (Like a Ghost)” solidifies the notion that the album’s experimental cultivation will be considerably expanse. Between the balmy, earworm-inducing instrumental house melody of the previously shared “Tensions,” to the darker sonic spectrum on “Bungl,” the new record will surely be a cutting-edge body of work.
