New Volkswagen ad channels Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’ cover art
The aesthetic of Volkswagon Mexico’s latest brand advertisement is certainly not “random.”
The vehicle manufacturer’s new ad places two respective Volkswagen models alongside each other in a style derivative of Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories cover art. The adjacent placement of the models is reminiscent of the helmets on the album, while also functioning as a tribute to Volkswagen’s recent partnership with Fender.
Several Volkswagen models will now be outfitted with Fender’s Premium Audio System, including the two cars pictured in the ad, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and Volkswagen’s signature model, the Beetle. The audio system is reputed as producing “concert-quality sound,” rendering Volkwagen’s musical allusion a particularly conscious one.
