Youngr and Endor lend house fervor to Lee Dorsey’s ‘Give It Up’

Youngr has coupled with emerging, London-based Endor for a new-age rendition of Lee Dorsey‘s “Give It Up.” Youngr, founder of pop duo Picture Book, first turned heads with his unique, single-take live videos, including his bootleg version of “Sweet Disposition” by Temper Trap, which raked in 15 million views in two weeks. 24-year-old Endor, on the other hand, has recently begun carving his name into the UK house scene, with 2017 releases on Night Beast Records and Armin van Buuren‘s acclaimed Armada Music.

Youngr and Endor’s “Give It Up,” released on Island Records, is a dancefloor house track dripping with vintage funk and soul. Dorsey’s voice from the 1969 track rings true through the sped up, 4×4 adaptation, with the retro textures of the lead piano synth graciously emulating the original chords. Dorsey’s lyrics afford the contemporary creation the idyllic dance atmosphere: “You know what’s on my mind/You been wastin’ too much time.”
