YouTube and Ticketmaster launch inaugural ticketing partnership

Corporate giants YouTube and Ticketmaster have joined forces in what just might be one of the most powerful partnerships of the year. Seeking to streamline the ticket-purchasing process for music fans, YouTube and Ticketmaster have announced their first-ever ticketing partnership, officially in effect as of Nov.15.

As a part of the partnership, YouTube will begin to display artists’ approaching US tour dates on their official music videos, a tactic that will apprise unknowing fans of their favorite artists’ upcoming local tour dates. The newly introduced feature will additionally allow music video viewers to go directly to Ticketmaster’s website to purchase tickets with just one click. The digital connection newly drawn between both entities will simplify the ticket-purchasing process, while effectively connecting new fans to local opportunities to catch their favorites in a live setting.

The partnership will currently limit its tour date notifications to Ticketmaster-supported shows located in North America, but YouTube and Ticketmaster plan to expand the service to include global offerings in the future.
