Dabrye leads ‘Three/Three’ album with new single featuring Ghostface Killah

Ghostly International labelmate Tadd Mullinix, better known as Dabrye, has just dropped off an effervescent, electronica-tinged hip-hop hit. Mullinix has teamed up with Adult Swim for their singles series as well as the venerable Wu-Tang Clan Ghostface Killah on the track, where he points to his searing potential in the near year. “Emancipated” preludes Dabyre’s new album Three/Three.

It’s been nearly 20 years since Dabrye’s beats first hit his listeners. In 2018, Ghostly International will reissue Dabrye’s albums, beginning with One/Three, the first album in an intended trilogy. One/Three boasts 10 tracks, with some dating as far back as 1998. While the artist has near two decades under his belt, listeners can be ensured that time has not waned on his sonic capabilities. In fact, one might say the years have emancipated him as an artist. On Dabrye’s latest track, for example, he maintains his blurring of the boundaries of hip-hop and electronic music, albeit with an amassed fervor that comes with 20 years of experience. Much like the city of Detroit, which largely built him and his Ghostly colleagues, Dabrye’s adroit ardency is made to last.
