Good Morning Mix: Ease into the day with Seth Troxler’s hour-long Rhythm Control Mix

Seth Troxler and Bruce Springsteen are two of music’s venerable rockstars. Though there may be a genre gulf between them, Troxler boldly sampled the latter for the commencement track to his 2014 Rhythm Control Mix. Selecting Springsteen’s 1982 hit “State Trooper” to kick things off was a bold move for an artist known for his dance-aligned outpouring, but for a club-outlier playlist, it was a — if not the —  perfect choice.

Troxler’s Rhythm Control Mix serves as a pleasing amalgamation of slow jam and club-straying indie sounds.

In the mix, he set out to create a timeless progression of disco, indie rock, and pop — and he, perhaps expectedly, succeeded. Rhythm Control is a superb mix from the likes of Ciscoe, Chris Rockford, Rainbow Arabia, Watussi, and It’s Immaterial. Naturally, it’s a perfect ease into the day from one of dance music’s greatest pioneers.
