Throwing Snow drops off mesmerizing new Zola Blood rework

London-based artist Throwing Snow has released a new electronic hybrid.

Since Ross Tones debuted the experimental moniker in 2007, the artist has impressed the world of dance music with his hypnotic hybrid of dulcet synths, dubstep, house, and post-rock. Also celebrated for their synth work is the London four-piece Zola Blood, of which Throwing Snow has taken on for his latest rework. His new mix is of Zola Blood’s popular track, “Islands,” which Zola Blood has explained is about “drifting off with someone, forgetting who you are or where you’re supposed to be.”

Though Throwing Snow captures this feeling of losing one’s self too, he expounds upon the track in a more sweeping, progressive fashion. While Throwing Snow may not be in a hurry to rush to the islands, the track maintains a warmth in its driving drums and synths anyways.
