Zhu drops heavy handed new original ‘Jet The Doberman,’ announces Blacklizt NYE show
By all accounts, Zhu is having himself a career year. In 2017, the enigmatic beatmaker has already graced fans with a handful of aced remixes, a new EP, and a joint venture with Adidas. Now, just as the year draws to a close, Zhu continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. With the announcement of his New Year’s Eve Blacklizt party and pop-up shop in San Francisco, the Mind of a Genius producer also dropped off a stomping new original cut called “Jet The Doberman” for your listening pleasure.
The new tune is an elbow-throwing trap piece introduced by a lengthy build, halted by a plucky mid-track breakdown, capped with brassy horn stabs that would make TNGHT shed a proud tear. Complete with crisp hi-hat rolls and intriguing sample selects chopped throughout, “Jet The Doberman” is another one-two punch from Zhu before the year’s end.
