Destructo announces maiden voyage of new four day cruise event, FRIENDSHIP
Gary Richards has cemented his legacy as a pioneer of modern large scale event production and promotion. He’s built a 30-year career from charting dance music and underground hip-hop’s open waters, and now he’s headed back to the high seas with the launch of his newest event, FRIENDSHIP. Dancing Astronaut first reported the news in January when Destructo revealed the new venture during the opening night of his Lets Be Friends tour in Brooklyn, and now Richards has followed up with his official announcement. The brand new cruise event will span four nights, from December 11–15, 2018, sailing from Miami to Coco Bay, Bahamas, stopping for two private beach parties along the way. Destructo, now embarking on his second sailing soirée, explains,
“At the end when I look back and reminisce about these times I had and the experiences that molded me and watered me enough to grow, I’ll think about all the friends I’ve made along the way and how I am a part of their story and they are more than all my friends. They are all my family. That is FRIENDSHIP.”
Destructo’s latest venture is backed by his newly minted AMFAMFAMF banner. The floating festival will take place aboard the Celebrity Equinox, boasting amenities including multiple bars and lounges, craft culinary experiences, grass decks and more. FRIENDSHIP’s maiden voyage will come presumably a month or so before the HOLY SHIP! 12.0 sailing so as nautilcal festival competition heating up, Destructo is likely to pull out all the stops with one hell of a lineup for FRIENDSHIP’s debut.
Before Destructo sets sail yet again, fans can catch him on the Lets Be Friends tour, which stops in Los Angeles and Phoenix the weekend of Feb 9. The remaining tour dates can be found here.
