Ferry Corsten and Paul Oakenfold team up for long-overdue inaugural collaboration

Paul Oakenfold and Ferry Corsten are two mainstays that have pioneered the trance industry to where it is today. Though the two have never collaborated, a new Corsten initiative called UNITY has finally brought about a collaborative single called “A Slice of Heaven.”

Corsten created UNITY to bring together producers to collaborate for something bigger than themselves. With “A Slice of Heaven,” he and Oakenfold have partnered with VH1’s Save The Music Foundation to add support to the organization’s Music Tech Grant program, which to date has donated $53 million worth of new musical instruments and equipment to more than 2,000 public schools across the USA.

Music has always been a release for me and dance music, especially trance, has always had a sense of community attached to it. Through UNITY, my aim is to bring together all of these people I have worked alongside through the years to create a project that reinforces that sense of being united and give young people the chance to make their own way in music.” -Corsten

Their track, “A Slice of Heaven,” features propelling trance synths and beautiful vocal breaks. Oakenfold commented on the long-overdue collaboration in an official statement about the track.

“Myself and Ferry have long spoken about getting together to work on music, and with the benefits of providing children with more opportunities to be educated through music, it was a no-brainer to finally make it happen.” -Oakenfold

The track is out now on both Flashover and Perfecto Recordings.
