Monstercat announces second Rocket League compilation album

Always ready to defy convention, Canadian electronic label Monstercat has signed a multi-EP record deal with the video game developers of Psyonix.

The deal allows for the two entities to team up for another compilation EP, which will showcase a wide selection of Monstercat artists, and will also be featured in Rocket League, Psyonix’s critically-acclaimed soccer-meets-driving game.

After the wild success of the compilation album Rocket League x Monstercat Vol 1which has collected millions of streams since its mid-2017 release, the two companies saw a synergistic opportunity to garner wider support for Monstercat artists and mutually grow their brands through each other’s vastly diverse channels.

“With Volume 1 being the success that it was, we are more than confident that this method will be adopted by more developers and music labels for years to come,” said Monstercat’s Head of Gaming Gavin Johnson.

Rocket League x Monstercat Vol 2 will be hosted on Monstercat’s website, and for purchase Rocket League, who will also be featuring the album in its Rocket League Championship Series. Gamey graphics and music alike have always been a staple of Monstercat’s stable, which has long-been home to artists like Pegboard Nerds and their iconic pixelated visuals and 8-bit soundscapes.
