Some days it feels like the “E” in EDM might as well stand for Ellie. The British phenom is due to release her sophomore album Halycon Days along with its Deluxe Edition on August 26th, and if her lovely lilting lyrics aren’t enough to pump you up, her collabs with DJ Fresh, Madeon, and Burns just might. The last of those artists recently released a preview of his collab with the songstress, “Midas Touch,” a relatively muted number with light trappy trappings. Ms. Goulding’s voice takes the forefront in the tune, supported by a few snare rolls, a Sampha-like backup vocal and some piano-laced slow claps.
