When Alma, Sound Remedy and Kill Paris unite for a collaboration, the result is an explosive melody synthesized with ethereal vocals. Alma’s talent was first discovered when she was featured in Kill Paris’ single “Falling In Love,” which was released on OWSLA earlier this year. Since then, Corey Baker, the mastermind behind Kill Paris, has created his own label appropriately named Sexy Electric. “Avalanches” is the first track from the label, and although it unravels with a trance-like essence, listeners are aware that this is merely a guise. Shortly past the minute and a half mark, a gritty, bass-filled drop infiltrates speakers with a burst of euphoria. The trio’s collaborative effort showcases cutting edge sounds from each edge of the musical spectrum: Alma’s mesmerizing vocals merge with Kill Paris’ electro glitch qualities while Sound Remedy’s flawless dubstep harmonies carry the tune home.
