Saint & G-Buck – Gijibae (Original Mix)
For those less acquainted with the ranks of trap and its subtle nuances, coining the essential sound of ‘twerk’ can prove problematic. Saint & G-Buck are rolling into 2014 with a pretty persuasive differentiator already racking serious attention from some of the genre’s hottest properties. It doesn’t take the seal of approval from Diplo and DJ Snake a like to get into the 808-bounce that pervades the chiming A-side “Gijibae.” It’s slow, yet reassuringly limber, grooves reassert Get Right Records not only as key components to the rapidly expanding North American sub-genre, but an imprint with their eyes and ears hot on trail of cutting edge trap talent. The likes of Miley Cyrus may have desecrated the coinage, but Saint & G-Buck make a positive run at reclaiming its name.
