DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine

Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

This week features Adam K & Soha’s timeless progressive house remix of “Need to Feel Loved,” a delectable M Machine original off Metropolis Part I, an engrossing remix from Classixx, and two generically-distinct remixes of Bon Iver.

If you missed any of DA‘s more mellow posts from the week, make sure to check out Ryan Hemsworth’s remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness,” Flight Facilities’ ‘The Decades’ Mix, and Jonas Rathsman’s free deep house track “Bringing You Down.” For five tracks to soothe and seduce your ears, click past the break.

Adam K and Soha have created some truly amazing tracks together, not the least of which is their remix of Reflekt’s “Need to Feel Loved.” This is progressive house at its best.

Though somewhat overshadowed by the hype around Metropolis Part II, the M Machine’s Metropolis Part I is worth revisiting time and time again. “A King Alone” is arguably its most chill offering.

Despite being premiered more than two years ago from the duo, Classixx’s remix of Mayer Hawthorne’s “Green Eyed Love” is a gratifyingly emotional production brimming with effervescent synths.

Combining Bon Iver and progressive house sounds like a strange fusion undoubtedly, but Tomas Barfod’s remix of “Re: Stacks” is compelling evidence to support the combination.

We could easily go out and find five remixes of Bon Iver and we’d have an awesome edition of SMM every week. Teen Daze’s remix of “Perth” is overflowing with a deep choral reverb, and much slower/mellower in comparison to Barfod’s take on “Re: Stacks.”
