Max Vangeli is coming to Bliss Lounge in Clifton, New Jersey

2012 has definitely been an “all systems go” type of year for Max Vangeli, as he’s been traveling all over the country playing sold out shows with some of the biggest names in dance music.

Next Friday marks another big stop on Max’s tour, as he’ll be making his debut at Bliss Lounge in Clifton, New Jersey, playing alongside New York-based DJ/producer Sevag. $15 Pre-sale tickets are available at wantickets.com and are sure to sell out, so make sure that you grab them early.

Four to the floor beats be damned, sometimes high energy builds, monumental drops, and squealing synths are no match for simply great music – that’s what we have here.

Loui Rose Allen, or Foxes as she prefers to be called, is a London-based singer who is following in the footsteps of equally beautiful Brit songbird, Ellie Goulding. Her dazzling vocals beg to be remixed and, while infectiously poppy, never sacrifice their emotion or honesty. Remember her name, because we think we are going to be seeing a lot more of her in the future.

The first remix is an electro-pop gem from French producer Pyramid who lends a refreshingly fun disco-house feel to the original track.

The second remix from the little known Adventure Club, is a subtle dubstep track that opts for peaceful melodies rather than guttural wobbles.

Bingo Players – L’Amour (Original Mix) [Preview]

Sometimes a track just leaves you completely speechless – and as we sat here desperately trying to come up with some novel way of describing the pure aural sex that is “L’Amour” – we realized that this was one of those times.

Everything the Bingo Players have done in the last year has found a permanent home on our computers and in our heads – their ability to create simple yet infectious beats is unmatched. As die hard Daft Punk fans, the “Robot Rock”-esque beat brings us back to the days when Alive 2007 was the only thing we listened to for months on end.

We think “L’Amour” could be the best Bingo Players track to date. February 20th cannot come soon enough — we need this track now.

27th Annual International Dance Music Awards voting begins today

Award ceremonies are always polarizing, but for the last 27 years the IDMAs have attempted to accurately represent the beliefs of dance and electronic music fans worldwide. Generating over two million votes from music enthusiasts in over 206 countries, this award ceremony carries a bit more weight than the DJ Mag Top 100. Popularity contests aside, this is the industry highlight at the center of the Winter Music Conference and with 55 categories to vote on, is the most comprehensive awards ceremony to date.

DJs are broken down based on geographic location and experience – and there is also a separate category for Best Producer – a welcomed addition that will surely stifle the DJ/Producer debate.

With every new release and remix, Gregori Klosman solidifies his place in the hallowed halls of dance music greatness. His impeccable production style never fails to impress and his unique mix of electro house with elegant melodies has set him apart from many of his contemporaries. His reimagining of Kaskade’s beautifully produced “Room for Happiness” is tastefully done, leaving Skylar Grey’s sinewy vocals intact while adding in a serious dose of energy right where we felt the original fell short.

If you prefer your dance music delivered with a sledgehammer then you will love this remix, if not, you can always grab the original via Beatport on February 7th.

Jacques Lu Cont – Church (Original Mix)

These days everyone with a MacBook, a pair of headphones, and a cracked version of Ableton calls themselves a producer. By that logic then, my relatively short career playing soccer in Highschool must mean that I am a soccer player — when in reality I was an un-athletic shlub who rode the bench for 3 years. It’s sad but true that many of dance music’s current fans didn’t know who Jacques Lu Cont was when they saw him at Swedish House Mafia at MSG (chances are they didn’t see him at all because they were too busy pregaming outside the venue.)

Well for those of you who are uninformed, now is your chance to get acquainted with Stuart Price, or Les Rythmes Digitales, or Thin White Duke, or Paper Faces or Jacques Lu Cont. Whatever moniker he chooses to go under, one thing remains the same – the man responsible for producing tracks for the Killers and Madonna (rumor has it he worked on some of her new tracks set to debut this Sunday at the Superbowl) – is a production phenom, in our opinion, second only to Eric Prydz.

If “Reload” and now “Church” are any indication, his 2012 comeback is going to be a thing to behold – long live the Thin White Duke.

Filo & Peri start off 2012 strong by gutting Alesso’s “Raise Your Head” and filling it with electro-house goodness. Simultaneously refreshing and familiar, their rerub is full of gritty energy – with huge kicks and a re-imagined bassline. Since this is a rerub, not a remix, Alesso’s original is still recognizable amongst the added sweeps and synths.

Like an old car with a new set of tires, Filo & Peri took “Raise Your Head” and gave it the boost it needed, adding some more mileage to the track. Expect for this one to drop sometime in February.
