Dancing Astronaut’s Top 50 Artists of 2011: 31-40

da_top50-artists

As individuals, we all have and are entitled to our own opinions but opinions vary widely. For example, I believe Starship Troopers is the greatest movie ever made based on its non-stop action, monsters, female nudity, and Denise Richards in her prime. You see, my criteria are skewed for the standard. But when you start to analyze and rank something comprehensively with integrity, whether it be movies or EDM artists, you need to understand the common judging criteria of the wider audience. Production quality, DJ skills, relevance, potential, etc. Check yesterday’s article if you need a full explanation of all the criteria and biases incorporated in the list, but know that we feel the following most accurately represents the consensus opinion of our audience. Here are the artists we placed at 40-31.

Fareoh has now offered up two free bootlegs in the last week. This time, Fareoh mashes Alesso’s banger “Raise Your Head” with Guetta’s classic club anthem “Love Is Gone.” While the track basically just layers Chris Willis’ vocals over Alesso’s instrumental, it’s still a good one to add to your finals playlist.

Chuckie – Who Is Ready To Jump (Dillon Francis Remix) [Preview]

Dillon-Francis-Beautician

We don’t usually post radio rips but felt the need to make an exception for this one. Dillon Francis takes Chuckie’s “Who Is Ready To Jump,” one of the top tracks of November, and turns it into an even bigger tune. Dillon drops the moombahton sound he’s best known for in favor of the more traditional dubstep vibe. Huge buildup and a giant wompy drop sure to terrorize dancefloors. Give this a listen and wait for the full length release on Monday Big Beat/CR2 records.
