EDC NY after parties by Pacha NYC: Fedde, Afrojack, R3hab, Thomas Gold, and more

Pacha-NYC-Logo

EDC New York unfortunately ends on the earlier side at MetLife Stadium around 11PM, but thankfully the party will continue throughout the night — and probably well into the morning — at Pacha NYC, 4Sixty6, Bliss in New Jersey, and Cielo afterwards. There are three days of EDC, but Pacha has enlisted various different clubs to host afterparties each and every night.

On Friday, Fedde Le Grand will take over Pacha and Cosmic Gate will be at Bliss in NJ. On Saturday — well, that’s TBA. But leave it to the Jacked crew to close out the weekend, with R3hab at 4Sixty6 in Jersey, and Afrojack returning to Pacha NYC yet again. Tickets are on sale now, so head to Pacha NYC’s website for all the details!

EDC NY set times released: time to make your schedules

EDC NY

It’s hard to believe that Electric Daisy Carnival New York is upon us, after months of rumors, announcements, and pretty significant developments (like the addition of a third day). Well, one of the final pieces to the EDC puzzle is the all important list of set times, which has finally been released by Pacha NYC and Insomniac. As expected, Saturday arguably has the most impressive lineup of the weekend, but Sunday and Friday aren’t too bad either. Begin making your schedule and find the complete list of set times below the break.

Paris Hilton’s first DJ appearance set for June 23rd at Pop Music Festival Brazil

Paris & Afrojack

Ever since Paris Hilton announced that she was working on a new album produced by her boyfriend Afrojack, we had a feeling this day would come. Billboard now reports that the ultimate socialite will have her first DJ appearance at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 23rd, where she will DJ in front of a crowd of 30,000 people. Hilton told the mag that she “cannot wait to DJ for the first time in front of thousands of people,” and that the music scene is something she has “been passionate about” since age 15.

“I am very excited to share all of my hard work with the world.” – Paris Hilton

Billboard also reports that this won’t be a one-time thing, but that “It is going to be the first of many!” We don’t know when she’ll have her first gig stateside, but we do know she knows her way around a DJ booth. Regardless, don’t be surprised if you start seeing Paris Hilton show up on the lineup of other major festivals. So, what do you think of Paris’ DJ career?

Tiesto and Wolfgang Gartner release ‘We Own The Night Video,’ dedicated to DJs around the world

Tiesto and Wolfgang Gartner have released the official video for “We Own The Night,” one of the first singles of Tiesto’s Club Life Miami album. The duo dedicates the video to all DJs around the world — you know, the folks who own the night — and consists of nearly four minutes of concert footage with some pretty cool visual effects. Not only does it star Tiesto and Wolfgang, but there are cameos from tons of other DJs, including Sander Van Doorn, Alesso, Chuckie, Benny Benassi, Dada Life, Avicii, Fedde Le Grand and more. In fact, it pretty much becomes a who’s who of DJs, essentially proving to the world that this is the unofficial DJ anthem. It’ll get the energy flowing — just as the world’s greatest DJs are supposed to do.

Will.I.Am debuts Eva Simons and Steve Angello-supported ‘This Is Love’ on UK radio station (updated)

Will.I.Am is no stranger to teaming up with EDM artists (David Guetta, anyone?), but Steve Angello is a new one for us. Will was recently a guest on Capital FM radio in the UK, where he spilled the beans on a track called “This Is Love,” co-produced by the Swedish House Mafia member with additional vocals by Eva Simons. There’s a bit of hubbub in the studio when Will reveals that he just finished the track on his laptop beforehand, but thankfully for all of us, the show’s hosts pressure him into playing it on the show live — despite the fact that his record label hadn’t even heard it yet. Thanks to the Internet, you can listen to it below.

Universal Music Group starts PM:AM Recordings, new EDM-focused label

PM-AM-Recordings

In another sign of the EDM times, Universal Music Group is launching a new dance label called PM:AM Recordings. According to the press release, the new imprint is comprised of A&R (artist and repertoire) reps from Universal offices worldwide, and will focus on tracks that “currently dominate the airwaves of Radio 1 and festivals alike.” Universal has a bit of experience with big EDM tracks, having signed Avicii’s “Levels” and “Silhouettes,” not to mention “Calling (Lose My Mind).” It will be interesting to see how the label develops, but we’re of course happy to see the big guys investing in the best music ever.

Arty’s ‘Open Space’ selected as Record of The Week on Trance Around The World

Arty-Pier-94-NYE

If you’ve already listened to our latest Axis podcast with Arty but are looking for more, we’ve got good news for you. Arty’s latest production, “Open Space,” was selected as Record of The Week on the latest Trance Around The World podcast. The track preserves the sound we’ve grown to love from Arty, and has a nice soothing build while still remaining incredibly upbeat. The middle section picks up the energy and gets the energy flowing, and will most definitely bring boring dancefloors to life. No word on release date, but it’ll be out on Anjunabeats whenever it does show up for purchase.

Pete Tong premieres ‘H8rs’ from Steve Angello, AN21, and Max Vangeli

Pete Tong debuted a brand new track from Steve Angello, AN21, and Max Vangeli on his radio show just a few short hours ago called “H8rs.” According to Pete, it will be included on the People Of The Night album — though we still have no hard release date or any other information about the track nor album. The new offering juxtaposes a dark lead intro with a mid-section that even appears to incorporate some drum-n-bass elements. It’s definitely got a different sound from other tracks we already know will be on the album (think “Whisper” or “People Of The Night”), but incorporates a “Fuck Them Haters” vocal that seems very fitting for a track from this particular threesome. Of course we don’t have any other information about the track right now, but stay tuned for more.

Update: AN21 has just confirmed “H8rs” to be the first single off People Of The Night.

Update 2: “H8rs” was featured as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World, and the release date has been set for May 28th. Listen to the official preview below.

Dada Life releases “Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker” official video, stares you down until you watch it

If there’s anything we’ve learned from watching Dada Life music videos, it’s that nothing is off limits and that Olle and Stefan really like to lip sync. Dada Life’s official video for “Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker” doesn’t feature any bikini-clad women, but it does feature the duo breaking lots and lots of stuff. Most Dada Life videos are a little weird — and this one is no different — though it definitely has a different feel than a video like their more recent “Rolling Stones T-Shirt.” Click play above to see for yourselves, and let us know what you think of Dada’s latest video in the comments.

Keane – Silenced By The Night (Alesso Remix)

Keane_Alesso5

Alesso’s latest remix of Keane’s “Silenced By The Night” was supposed to be out a few days ago, but you know the saying: good things come to those who wait. As we observed about a month ago when he gave us an official preview of the track, Alesso preserves the integrity of Keane’s uplifting vocal while adding a tranquil blend of synth undertones that make the track big but not overwhelming. This is pretty much par for the course with what we’ve come to expect from Alesso, who has just been smashing it lately, with an enormous Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 and countless huge shows with his mentor (and manager) Sebastian Ingrosso. We’re not sure what’s next for Alesso, but we’re already looking forward to hearing what his next release will be. Just don’t make us wait years for “Years,” okay?
