Watch This: Destroid are changing the DJing game

In a time when standing on stage and mixing just doesn’t cut it anymore, Destroid are taking the live idea to another level. We reported earlier this year about Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka forming dubstep supergroup Destroid, and after their first show it seems dubstep might not be dead after all. Using MIDI guitars and a modified drum kit, Destroid proves that live music and dubstep can be one in the same. If you think this set is prerecorded, think again. They’ll also be playing at this year’s Camp Bisco.

“All drums parts & bass samples are played live, in Ableton samplers and drum tracks. We had to actually split our 75 minute set in to two separate projects as Ableton could not handle having an entire sets worth of individual samplers/drum racks for each bass sample/drum hit.”

After keeping fans satisfied with a few free downloads, dBerrie is finally back with his first original mix since “Zenith.” A light build and a rolling bassline combine for a sound fitting of the 2013 festival season. With releases being added to his arsenal left and right, the Brooklyn native is shaping out to have a stellar year. Following the success of his remix to “Radioactive,” Berrie hopes to grab the same attention with “Malfunction,” made available via Flamingo Records.

Firebeatz – Wonderful (Original Mix)

firebeatz-wonderful

As Firebeatz continues to dominate 2013, their latest release establishes a more uptempo attitude than their usual outings. “Wonderful” employs airy lyrics overtop a bouncy beat but still employs an electro aesthetic as to not stray to far from their signature style. The track is definitely a fresh breath of progressive air and keeps us looking forward to Firebeatz next release.

Moguai relaunches Punx Records with ‘PunkOMat’

It has been twelve years since Moguai first launched his label Punx, and almost 4 years since the label has released any tracks. The reason he starting it up again now? Andre Tegeler thinks that “right now dance music is getting to the point where more and more tracks are sounding the same, so to me it is the perfect time to revisit the original thinking and go against the grain.” The first release, “PunkOMat” incorporates a wobbling bassline with a hint of electro that definitely differs from the normal four to the floor rhythm. “PunkOMat” will be released on June 24th with the relaunch of Punx Records.

Imagine Dragons – Radioactive (dBerrie Remix) [Free Download]

Although dBerrie just released a preview for “Malfunction,” he has been keeping busy in the studio giving his fans a free download of his latest remix. Taking Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive,” Berrie speeds up the original indie tune and turns it into an absolutely massive track. The fluid bassline complements the emotion filed lyrics, breathing new life into the year-old track. We might even say that this remix is on par with dBerrie’s remix of “Somebody I Used to Know,” but download below and decide for yourself.
