Best of the Rest is a daily feature from Dancing Astronaut that recaps the most important posts of the day as well as the stuff we didn’t get to. With the rapidity that dance music news and releases come out it’s difficult for us to hit everything — we hope BOTR serves as a catch-all. First premiered by Axwell during his impressive Electric Zoo 2012 set, “Committed to Sparkle Motion” is now being released on Axtone Records. The track starts out with an echoing cry until breaking into a period of fresh uplifting lyrics and a drop that has become the signature DubVision Sound. It’s becoming a pattern for label heads to drop new tracks ahead of releases to drum up buzz, and that is most certainly the case here. If you’re loving this progressive house track, make sure to grab it on Beatport.

It’s that time of the week once again when Arty gives us an update with his Together We Are radio show on SiriusXM. This is a little different from the usual podcast because it is Arty’s set from the Ministry of Sound in London on October 6th, and features a more well-known track selection than some of his previous radio shows. You’ll instantly recognize tracks like “Reload” and Arty’s remix of “Spectrum,” but there are definitely some surprising bootlegs thrown in from Mat Zo and Thomas Gold. As always you can download the whole episode and find the tracklist below.

It has been almost a year since we first heard the Bingo Players drop “Out of My Mind” at Ultra Music Festival 2012, and we had started getting sick of calling it an “ID.” The track starts off with huge radiant synths that cause a massive build before culminating in a drop that would bring any dance floor to its feet. While the preview does not feature the vocals, after hearing them again at Electric Zoo we can tell you they complement the melody quite nicely. “Out of My Mind” drops November 12th on Hysteria Records.

OWSLA artist Jeff Montalvo, better known as Seven Lions, is back with another free track after giving away “Isis” earlier this year. “She Was” features Birds of Paradise, a very calm electronic duo, creating a track categorized as “dreamstep.” It has elements that remind us of Pretty Lights, as the glitchy melody fits well with the wobbles of the bass. If you like what you are hearing make sure to grab the track below and catch Seven Lions on the OWSLA tour this fall.
Dancing Astronaut has partnered up with Insomniac Events and Icon Collective Music Production School to bring you the chance to play a set at Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando. Part of Insomnaic’s Discovery Project, the winners of the contest will take to the Neon Garden Stage on November 10th, bringing a fresh crop of talent to light. This is an incredible opportunity to get exposure and get your name out there, so there’s no harm in entering if you think you have a shot. You can check out all the details of the contest past the break, including how to win scholarships to Icon’s online classes. Good Luck!
