Once again, Arty is back with another weekly episode of Together We Are, and this time he’s going old school. After finding a case of old CDs, Arty decided to make an episode full of classics from when he first started DJing and he plans on continuing this trend every couple of months if his fans like it. Included in the mix are classics like Prydz’s “In & Out,” a remix of Benassi’s “Come Fly Away,” and more, creating a very peaceful mix. We love when artists use their radio shows to experiment and with a mix like this, Arty has us at the edge of our seats.
Dyro has been producing remixes at a breakneck speed, and follows up his remix of “Close Enemies” after only a week. This time he takes on his own track, “Top of the World,” and gives it a heavy facelift.
‘I hate the fact that people see me as a producer of a certain genre. I want people to know what I’m capable of. And this remix was my way of showing that. Yes, it’s a dubstep track, and no, it’s not a new style. At first I made it as an edit to close my sets with, but I decided I wanted to share it with the world as it worked so well on the floor!’
If you want to catch Dyro live, he will be spinning at Pacha NYC with Hardwell on November 23rd, you can grab tickets here.

Fuse TV has just posted a video with the legendary Afrojack, announcing he will be the only person to remix Psy’s world renowned “Gangnam Style.” The Dutchman hasn’t started on it just yet because although it can take him as little as an hour to make a track, he plans on putting his all his energy into this.
“Gangnam Style” [is] so, so massive, I’m going to figure something cool out” Afrojack said, “I just want everyone who knows ‘Gangnam Style’ to hear the remix and be like ‘oh wow I never expected that.’ Check the video after the break, and keep checking Dancing Astronaut because this remix is going to be big.
After updating the CDJ-2000′s to nexus earlier this fall, Pioneer is finishing off the line by introducing the DJM-2000nexus. It looks very similar to its predecessor and most of the features included are the same. New features include Sync Master which allows you to set the master BPM for up to four CDJs from the mixer and four performance modes which allows tracks to be remixed in real time. These modes change the touchscreen to either beat slice, sidechan remix, frequency mix or midi. The new DJM also includes support for the Rekordbox app for iOS which lets DJs prepare playlists, cues, and view waveforms on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and then wirelessly transfer content to the device. If you want a live demo check out MONSTA showing us some new features after the break. (more…)
Best of the Rest is a daily feature from Dancing Astronaut that recaps the most important posts of the day as well as the stuff we didn’t get to. With the rapidity that dance music news and releases come out it’s difficult for us to hit everything — we hope BOTR serves as a catch-all. Make sure to check it out at the end of each day to ensure you don’t miss anything!
After releasing “Bonny” and two versions of “I Rave You,” Basto is back with another fresh orignal. “Stormchaser” uses the melodic build that we have come to love from Basto and culminates in a drop that differs from his recent fare. The bassline carries the track but the tribal drums complement the melody creating an instant club hit. “Stormchaser” drops December 8th on Spinnin Records and with massive songs like this we can expect Basto to become a bigger name in 2013.

After spending his summer spinning for the sophisticated Ibiza crowd, 17 year old Danny Avila is finally ready to release his first single. “Breaking Your Fall” is a complex progressive house track that uses a little helping of electro to complement the progressive chords and make this worthy of any dance floor. The added vocals give the song a pop feel that could allow it to be featured on mainstream radio. Avila has positioned himself as the newcomer for 2013 and it is clear he plans to make an impact. “Breaking Your Fall” is now available from Big Beat Records on Beatport.
After showing his skills off on his first original song, “Voices,” New York DJ dBerrie is back with another new original. “Aquarius” is a simple, yet elegant progressive house track that uses a euphoric melody to carry the tune. The rise and falls in this track create an emotional landscape that will bring people to their feet with their hands in the air. After previewing two different ID tracks in his last mix for Dancing Astronaut’s Axis, it is clear that David Berrie has a lot more in the works for next year. You can grap “Aquarius” on Beatport from Flamingo Records.

ANSOL, comprised of talented artists Aki Nair and Sebastian Sollerman, are teaming up with Canadian duo Dzeko &Torres to deliver their latest electro offering. “Y3ah!” is a follow up to their massive single with Dyro, “Top of the World,” and it is equally as giant as the two duos try to make a name for themselves. The synth laden beat builds while an electro bassline pushes the track forward, culminating with a big room drop. “Y3AH!” only gets bigger as it plays out, and it will certainly become a staple in big room sets, but for now, it’s available from MixMash Records on Beatport.
