Following up on his hit, Imagine, Robbie Rivera releases The Sound of the Times with vocalist Ana Criado. The Dance or Die mix is more conventional and will probably appeal to a wider audience than the funky electro Dance or Die Juicy Mix, but the Juicy mix does have cowbell!

The music video for Calvin’s latest single features a young man who “bounces” after getting into a fight with his girlfriend. Unfazed, our protagonist goes on a dance rampage through Las Vegas that takes him to the set of the Bounce music video (meta) where he runs into Kelis.
Aside: Kelis knows what the new sound is. Since her hip-hop days she’s entered the EDM world via collaborations like Spaceship with Benny Benassi, Acapella with David Guetta, and No Security with Crookers.
After venturing through the strip and a house party where he may or may not be a welcome guest, the carefree “bro” finds himself on the dance floor with a beautiful girl and Calvin on the decks. Finally his night ends up like many Vegas nights often do – a comfortable new sleeping arrangement in a spontaneous location… unfortunately without the girl. The vibe of this video is reminiscent of Avicii’s Bromance video. Tribute to bros all around.
Epic Meal Time, the “bro” cooking show that has become wildly popular on Youtube, published their latest episode yesterday with a very special guest. Deadmau5 and his cat, Meowingtons, joined the EMT crew as they piled bacon on top of cheese (extra cheese for the Mau5), deep-fried bread, cheetos, Jager and more. Deadmau5 even got involved with the eating portion of the video to the sound of Strobe. Epic Mau5 Time!
Super You & Me may not have been a large festival type party like Ultra or Masquerade Motel but it was arguably the most fun event of Miami Week. A very talented lineup that featured Laidback Luke, Skrillex, Sidney Samson, Congorock, and Sandro Silva rocked a packed house on Wednesday night, March 23rd. Super You & Me combined a high rolling, Hollywood-esque, environment with a playful costume party atmosphere. Super You & Me was held at LIV, one of the ritziest clubs in South Beach, but that didn’t stop the DJs and audience from dressing in the traditional super hero or villain attire. Crossing wacky with classy turned out to be a major success. The audience took full advantage of the wild spectacle and they enjoyed the party alongside a star studded cast of DJs and celebrities.
Our friends over at PwrHr.com have put together a power hour that features our top 60 songs of 2010. The playlist starts with song #60 and counts all the way down to our #1 song of 2010. A power hour, for those of you who don’t know, is a playlist that changes to a new song at the end of every minute, and to complete the power hour, you have to listen to all 60 songs. Rumor has it that some people drink a shot of beer every time the song changes but we certainly would only recommend doing that responsibly. The San Francisco Bay Area portion of the Dancing Astronaut crew will be debuting the Dancing Astronaut Power Hour at our pregame for Anthem tomorrow night. Everyone in the bay area should come out – we want to meet you!
Make sure to get your tickets. This will be one of the best parties in 2011! The location is the corner of Ocean Dr. and 8th Street. The venue will be built on the sand and will be the closing event for Funkshion’s Fashion Week Miami Beach. Play with it on Google Street View to prepare yourself for glory.
You already know Dada Life appreciates the unusual. They emphasize the presence of cowbells in their music. They toss giant bananas into crowds. Their latest surprise features an assailant with a banana as a weapon. Only good things can come from aggressive banana wielders… such as dance parties and girls wrestling in bananas. I wonder if the banana hands were inspired by this:
Watch girls play a human pinball match refereed by Laidback Luke in the brand new video for Timebomb. The graphics in this video are very well done, it has a Tron-esque feel to it. I’m glad Luke was in the video. More DJs need to be in their own music videos!
The best week of your life just got better. Laidback Luke posted this video on his Youtube today as a promo for his Super You & Me party at LIV, Miami on March 23rd. Joining Luke will be an incredible lineup that features:
Skrillex, Sidney Samson, Congorock, Sandro Silva and special guest Wynter Gordon
Only the biggest DJs in the world have a party brand as big as Super You & Me that can pull in this many big names. More details on the event are coming soon. Remember, the dress code calls for superhero, villain, or vixen outfits. We’ll be there dressed up as astronauts!
