Nero – Must Be the Feeling (Funkagenda remix)

Nero’s “Must Be the Feeling” received remixes from both Funkagenda and Delta Heavy. One is very tech oriented, while the other is a mesh between electro and dubstep (we’ll let you guess which one is which). This free download has a serene feel to it and chops up the lyrics in an enjoyable fashion. Is it just us or does the beginning of this track sound eerily like Mark Knight’s remix of “You’ve Got The Love?” As you progress through the track, the high kicking synths add a little flavor to this uptempo creation.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano – Markuzza/ Zweepstok (Original Mixes)

Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano finally release “Markuzza” along with “Zweepstok” on Steve Angello’s Size Records. We’ve been waiting for this track for a little over a year now, ever since it aired on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show in January 2011. Let’s get into the action below.

Is it weird that SJ and RM’s signature track has been one that wasn’t even released till yesterday? This high energy tech house track is sure to get the crowd swaying in unison with the beat. “Markuzza” rides the fine line between soothing and crazy — we hope Steve Angello promotes the hell out of this release, because it deserves a large amount of attention.

To be honest with you, “Zweepstok” is going to end up being the red headed step child of this package (“Markuzza” is just so damn good). However, if you are into eclectic sounds you will be a fan of this tune. “Zweepstok” is a little Deadmau5-esque, where the collection of noises is more important than the actual melody itself.

Aba & Simonsen – Soul Bossa Nova (Chuckie & Mastiksoul Remix)

Aba & Simonsen’s “Soul Bossa Nova” gets a heavy dose of ‘jungle’ injected into the bass line courtesy of Chuckie and Mastiksoul. The creator of original, Quincy Jones, made this unique and groovy track way back in the 60s.

“Soul Bossa Nova” caught fire in the US when it became the theme song for the popular Austin Powers movie series. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard a Chuckie and Mastiksoul collaboration, they’ve worked together before on the track “Body Move,” which was released on the popular Dirty Dutch compilation. With releases such as “Together” and “F U Betta” gaining traction, it looks like Chuckie is about to create some serious waves this year as we get into the thick of things in February. Those of you that reside in San Francisco should check out Chuckie’s performance at Ruby Skye on the 11th.

Go Behind The Scenes With Pierce Fulton From The Mid Chicago To Pacha NYC

Budding superstar, Pierce Fulton, is now embarking on a career path that is soon to take off in a big way. With an array of releases under his belt (think: “Pardon My French EP,” “What Happens In Vegas” and his latest tune “Who Wants Spaghetti?“) he has set the foundation to become an excellent producer and contributor to the world of house music for decades to come. At the young age of 19 he has many years to not only develop his skills in the studio, but gain the following that he truly deserves.

In the video above, you go behind the scenes with Pierce and Griff (his brother) to his first show at Pacha NYC. There are a few things you can determine after watching:

1) Pierce has got a great head on his shoulders. Even at a young age, he keeps everything in perspective while remaining objective. This is nice to see in an industry driven by huge ego’s and unwanted politics.

2) Even in the wee hours of the morning, the Pacha dancefloor was filled and thumping. Imagine what he could do in the near future with a headlining gig?

3) Writing music is his passion, and Pierce happens to compose the purest form of house music. Something tells us that we won’t have to worry about Pierce dating Paris Hilton or falling off the map completely (ahem, Bob Sinclar).

You can catch Pierce this weekend at XS Las Vegas opening for Tiesto on Super Bowl Eve (Saturday), in a show that is undoubtedly going to sell out. If you can’t make it there — all the Astronauts will be present at his performance in San Francisco on March 17th at Vessel Ultralounge. Dancing Astronaut has given you fair warning to hop on the bandwagon now, or be left in the dust when Pierce absolutely blows up. Needless to say, we will save a few seats for you.

GusGus – Within You (Carl Louis & Martin Danielle Remix)

Ever since we’ve caught wind of Carl Louis and Martin Danielle’s remix of Max Vangeli’s “Look Into Your Heart” we’ve known they were going to be something special. These Norwegians prefer the piano as their weapon of choice and they wield it extremely well. These guys have put out quality productions for more than a year now and they are primed for an exciting take off in the near future. “Within You” provides us with a rolling bassline fully equipped with Hardwell-esque synths. Their time is now and DA fully supports them in all their efforts.

Trent Cantrelle – Night Like This (Original Mix)

The Astronauts were lucky enough to see Trent Cantrelle play a set this New Years Eve at White Wonderland. He played an unbelievable deep tech house set that went longer than initially intended due to the absence of Kaskade. We were fully aware of the remixes that Trent had done for the Manufactured Superstars (“Serious” and “Drunk Text“), however, we heard a bunch of stuff that we couldn’t quite put our fingers on. One of the those previously unheard of tunes was “Night Like This,” which came out today on Beatport. If you love smooth and mesmerizing tech house get yourself accustomed to Trent’s style.

Laidback Luke, Arno Cost, Norman Doray – Trilogy (Preview)

Arno Cost and Norman Doray have been known to collaborate on many tracks like “Better Days” and “Lady In The Air.” This time around DA favorite, Laidback Luke, joins the crew to create “Trilogy.” While this may be considered ‘soft’ for most Laidback Luke productions it is still an impressive progressive track that is sure to be a favorite with all house music consumers. The chant in the background reminds us of the acapella version of “Blau!” Luke has been known to sample voices and incorporate them into the bassline. We hope this trio continues to produce more tunes, because this amount of talent in one studio session is bound to create multiple gems.

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Various Mixes)

“Ladi Dadi” marks the second single to be released off of Aoki’s Wonderland. The remix package was released today with remixes from heavy hitters such as Angger Dimas, Autoerotique, and Tommy Trash. The one name that may be relatively new to everyone is Pixel Cheese, a young Polish producer who recently rose to fame due to a few unofficial remixes and bootlegs. Let’s dive into the details of the entire package after the jump.

Note: Is Ultra Records on fire or what? They are also releasing Adrian Lux’s new track “Fire.” Keep up the good work guys — see you at the end of March!

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix)

Tommy Trash is busy creating his own style of house music, which blends electro and progressive to create a unique bone rattling sound. The thing is, no matter what type of EDM your ears are partial to (electro, dubstep, progressive, tech) you will find something in Tommy’s sound that speaks to you. His remix of “Ladi Dadi” is filled with percussions, kicking synths, and a ton of power. Needless to say, (but we will say it anyway,) this is our favorite out of the package.

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Instrumental Mix)

Whether you like Wynter Gordon’s vocals or not — this is a must have.

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Pixel Cheese Remix)

Pixel Cheese’s remix is the most progressive out of the entire package. Wynter Gordon’s vocals are really prominent throughout the entirety of the tune, but they are slightly chopped up in various segments. Do yourself a favor and fast forward to approximately 2:30, this is acid house at it’s finest. After listening to this rendition, we know that Pixel Cheese will be in the game for decades to come.

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Angger Dimas Remix)

Skrillex or Angger Dimas? The mere fact that we are associating both names together, is the biggest compliment one can give to the craziest Indonesian we know. Angger beautifully combines the melody from “Ladi Dadi” and transitions it into sinister sounding dubstep. Think of this as the “villain” remix, who would have thought it felt this good to be the bad guy?

Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon – Ladi Dadi (Autoerotique Remix)

Autoerotique straddles the line between dubstep and electro perfectly. Distortions, wobbles, and grunge fill this remix to the brim and keep you energized from start to finish. We were told that Autoerotique put on a good show in Palo Alto last Saturday and everyone was beyond thrilled. Check out their remix of “We’re All No One” and “Work Hard, Play Hard” if you can’t get enough of Autoerotique’s style.

Wolfgang Gartner – There And Back (Original Mix)

We are glad to see that Wolfgang Gartner is back to his roots with the release of “There And Back.” This is more along the lines of “Illmerica” and “Space Junk,” rather than his previous tracks on Weekend In America like “Circus Freaks.” We are suckers for piano chords, but we love electro based pianos even more. Wolfgang’s productions are always top notch, but the real reason for the success of many of his tunes can be attributed to his flawless engineering capabilities. He has an uncanny ability of turning a solid track into a straight up masterpiece. Pick up your copy on Beatport now, but if you are waiting for the iTunes release, it drops on February 14th.

Ferry Corsten ft. Ben Hague – Ain’t No Stoppin’ (Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano Remix)

“Ain’t No Stoppin” breaks uncharted territory for Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano due to the fact that these tech oriented studs are diving head first into a powerful progressive remix. If you listen to their previous two releases, “Lethal Industry” and “Tribeca” both are considerably deeper sounding. Sunnery and Ryan are two of the most humble producers in the game, you can catch a glimpse of how these guys are behind the scenes with our 3rd installment of our “Behind The Booth” series. As much as DA loves the original mix of “Ain’t No Stoppin” we’ve got to give credit where credit is due — Sunnery and Ryan flat out crushed this one.
