After going on tour with Avicii, Cazzette has been going on an onslaught, much like R3hab last summer. The duo’s remixes of “Believe It” and “Levels” have been unbelievable to say the least. This time around they come up with a bootleg that creatively uses Fatboy Slim’s classic “Right Here Right Now” vocals. Avicii featured this bootleg on his “Le7els” podcast which has quietly been rising up the iTunes ranks. Cazzette is primed for a huge blow up this year as they bring together elements of dubstep and electro – keep your eyes peeled for new remixes. You can download the individual booty below, which is part of our Dancing Astronaut 10K Facebook Like bootleg give away. Like us and get the whole package!

“Airbuzz” is a funky tune from the King of funk – Koen Groeneveld. His last recent success was “Ditsjz,” which featured a wild drop along with a tech oriented bassline. This time around “Airbuzz” is a lot smoother than his previous productions, we envision this being used in more than a few opening sets. Let’s dive into the details below.
Stefano Noferini is the ultimate tech DJ, he rarely meanders outside the realm of that genre and has created numerous great tunes. His remix of “Airbuzz” is our favorite out of the package, and provides a thick bassline to get lost in. While there isn’t a big build up or a big drop, you can see how this is the perfect track to relax to.

When compared with Stefano’s rendition, Koen’s remix of his own tune is indefinitely darker. The bassline is juicy – you can liken it to a build up along the wavelength of Dada Life’s. This is borderline deep house.

Tiesto’s imprint Musical Freedom releases their Best Of 2011 compilation which features the biggest productions of this past year. You can see a few big names scattered throughout the album and some tracks that you may not have listened to in a while. After looking through the tracklisting you can see that Musical Freedom definitely had a year to remember and has the stage set to do brilliant things looking forward. Dancing Astronaut favorite Tommy Trash has definitely made his mark – many of his tunes are featured on this album. Listen to all of the tunes after the jump and purchase your copy on Beatport.
Michael Woods comes out with an acidic remix of Ostbahnhof and Ugo Platana’s “Evensong.” This is much harder than what we have normally come to hear from Michael, but it should do well in a club setting. The slow build up at around 3:25 gets you primed for another great drop, which has been Michael’s go to move recently – he used a similar type of transition period in “Last Day On Earth.” We can’t wait until the UK based DJ makes another US swing so we can see his crowd engaging ways yet again.

The original mix is definitely a very chill tune when compared to Michael Woods’ crazy rendition. The progressive chords are great for lounging around and enjoying sounds rather than melodies. This is very Deadmau5-esque – slow and elegant. We are partial towards Michael’s remix, however, we can definitely see people bobbing to the original mix.

Looks like Avicii has all the intentions of kicking ass in 2012 as well. His latest track that is yet to be released is his remix of Eric Turner’s “Dancing In My Head.” This tune was featured in both his Pier 94 set and his Warfield set in San Francisco. Go ahead and add this to the (long) list of unreleased Avicii hits that we have been waiting for. “Silhouettes,” “Derezzed (Vocal),” his track alongside Nicky Romero, and a few others will dominate the charts soon enough. His sensitive style has won over the masses and helped bring house music to the forefront of entertainment. What else can this guy do?
Tony Junior was put on the map with his release of “Appeletroen,” he easily tops that with “Anigav” a track that reminds us of Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso’s “Calling.” We like to refer to these type of productions as ‘rising melody’ tracks – progressive house DJs are creating more and more stuff similar to this. “Tung,” and “Hertz” are both tunes that did really well at the box office that fall under this umbrella term. Tony Junior makes his splash on Spinnin Records and will be on DA’s radar for a long time to come.

Maison & Dragen (formerly known as Marcus Maison & Will Dragen – their full names) create a rolling progressive hosue tune called “Rio De Janeiro.” This track uses a much deeper and tech oriented sound than their previous work that was usually very Avicii-esque. Rio is one of the craziest cities in the world to party in and we feel this track does the city justice. Maison & Dragen are primed for a big 2012 and were vastly underrated this past year, even though they had some big releases (think: “Excalibur” and “Digital Freedom“).

Fact (2): “The Moment” and “Anima” are full blown anthems.
Fact (3): “I Can’t Help Myself” is one of the most underrated tunes of the year.
“Anima” has been featured in An21 and Max Vangeli’s essential mix and Thomas Gold’s Escape From Wonderland set (two of the best sets this year). Tim Mason has an uncanny ability to end the year with a bang. Last year everyone caught a whiff of “The Moment” when Steve Angello premiered it in his Roseland Ballroom show, and this year he releases “Anima” a day before NYE. Needless to say, ringing in the new year just got a bit more fun.

The winners of Tiesto’s “Work Hard, Play Hard” remix competition, Paris FZ and Simo T, are back at it again with “Aura.” This time around they feature a name change to a shortened version of just “Paris & Simo.” They have joined forces with Mark Mendes who previously collaborated with Thomas Gold on their remix of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” “Aura” is a stunning progressive tune that uses a vide variety of lead synths and a great build up to lead you into a goosebump creating drop. Be on the lookout for these two youngsters – they are part of the Revealed family and are looking to do big things in the near future.
