Arguably the hottest DJ in America at the moment, Kaskade released “Turn it Down” today, featuring the vibrant Swedish duo, Rebecca and Fiona. He only recently released “Eyes“, and now he has come out with yet another mesmerising track, which is available exclusively on Beatport. The track was one of the tracks on Pete Tong’s recent essential selection (and it was also in Kaskade’s Essential Mix that we posted a few days ago), and Kaskade has been teasing the crowd throughout his summer Identity Tour with a preview of this tune.
Check out a special preview video with some great Identity Festival footage from Mountain View, embedded after the break.

When we discovered that today was Kaskade’s debut on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix show on BBC Radio 1, we were honestly very surprised that it was only his first essential mix given his superstar status and ability, having recently been voted as America’s best DJ in 2011 and already a household name in the EDM scene.
Having taken the US by storm with phenomenal performances as a headliner at the inaugural Identity summer tour (that some of the Dancing Astronaut team had the pleasure to witness), this mix is a brilliant sequence of anthem after anthem, which is made even more impressive by that fact that more than half were produced by him or at least remixed by his Midas touch.
He features his absolutely mesmerising summer track, “Eyes”, the stable of DJ sets @ Electric Zoo, Alesso & Ingrosso’s “Calling”, his remix of “Invisible” (and amazing remix with a different feel to the other remixes), his classic “Raining“, his unreleased track “Turn it down” with Swedish duo Rebecca & Fiona…honestly, every track in his mix is amazing, just take a look at the tracklist.
Forget about bringing your iTunes EDM playlist to a party this weekend, just use this 2-hour mix. With so many good tracks, we thought it would be interesting to ask the Dancing Astronaut community – what’s your favourite track in this mix?
Listen to it here, and add it to your collection of Essential Mixes, it certainly ranks amongst the best of the mixes I’ve heard in recent history on Pete Tong’s famous BBC 1 Radio show.
Michael Woods brings us the next chapter from his label Diffused. This time with rising Australian star Nick Galea and his latest track Conductor.
With previous support from Tiesto and Roger Sanchez, Nick’s track Conductor (which has already been featured on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection radio show) is a heavy hitting progressive house bomb with an interesting twist.
This track features a catchy solid hard bass motif that is repeated throughout, but what I found to be most distinct was the unorthodox epic orchestral element from 2:00 to 2:30 that is elaborated on from 3:33 to 4:30. It’s quite unique, something that you’d expect to hear in a blockbuster Hans Zimmer film (say The Last Samurai) rather than in a house track. It rather abruptly evolves into a hard hitting house sequence that somehow compliments the initial serenity quite well. His preview last month featured this core section of the track:
I quite enjoyed listening to this as its musical composition is different to a lot of the more mainstream tracks that are released nowadays. What do you think?

Time certainly flies, and this summer is no exception. It seemed like yesterday when we shared Sunny’s previous mixtape, Summer Breeze, back in June.
Now, Sunny Ventura just released his latest mixtape, Turn The Music Up, on his SoundCloud featuring some of the hottest summer anthems such as Dirty South’s remix of Invisible, Avicii’s Fade into Darkness, as well as the the SHM remix of Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.
There are also several solid mashups by Romain G of some classic tracks by Afrojack. Definitely check out the last track, in the mixtape, the recently released Calling by Ingrosso and Alesso mashed with the vocals of Axwell’s I Found You.
N-joy!

Here’s a sick tune that is sure to be featured at clubs this summer. Louder is currently the #1 most-played record on Radio 1 and it’s been sitting pretty at the top of the midweek charts all week long. UK based DJ Fresh is back after his smash hit ‘Gold Dust’ with DJ Fresh ft Sian Evans ‘Louder’ and it’s is absolutely HUGE! Hardwell turns this dubstep hit into a progressive house banger. Hardwell who’s known for his big synth breaks does it again and in this mix adding a dirty electro bassline. Have a listen, and let us know what you think.
Last night, the one and only Pete Tong released his Essential Selection for the upcoming festival-packed summer of 2011. In this festival special edition on his famous show on BBC’s Radio 1, Pete Tong gives his thoughts on the tracks that he believes will be featuring heavily in DJ sets this summer in festivals worldwide, and plays his list of “essential contenders”.
Listen to it for the next week on BBC Radio 1, or if you’d like to download it, check it out here.
It’s been an amazing year so far for Hardwell, releasing numerous much talked about remixes and hits like ‘Zero 76′ together with Tiesto and his own single ‘Encoded’, reviewed as a peak-time anthem by many. But also as a DJ playing gigs all over the world, supporting Tiesto on his North America tour and Ibiza and headlining all the big festivals this coming summer season. This all was topped by his debut at the leading dance event Sensation in Prague 28th of May.
Now the youngster is back with the follow up! ‘The World’ is again a track which holds that unique Hardwell signature. A massive lead building to a huge climax and releasing some tough energetic beats. This all with a feel-good drive and catchy melody. ‘The World’ is one of those prog-housers that makes you get up on your feet and start dancing instantly.
If you’re looking for a solid mix for the summer that features anthem after anthem, look no further. German DJ and producer Sunny Ventura’s Summer Breeze takes some of the hottest tracks of 2011 and creates this great mixtape. Take a listen, and let us know what you think!
Today, the highly anticpated full version of the Tommy Trash remix of “Jona Vark” was made available to us courtesy of Beat My Day, with the first thousand dowloads available on their Soundcloud link.
This song is an absolute banger. I’m not normally one to post tracks on DA, but when we received news of the full release of this track, I immediately felt compelled to share this track with the rest of my fellow astronauts. The name “Jona Vark” will undoubtedly stick in your head as you play this track on repeat.
Enjoy!
