The Top 10 Tracks of Las Vegas Memorial Day Weekend

With the events of Las Vegas still fresh in our minds we have decided to report the top tracks of our Memorial Day Weekend excursion. How did we come up with the list? We combined multiple factors in deciding the top tracks: frequency (the amount of times a track was played), quality of the tune according to the general consensus of the house world, and the crowd reaction when the tune was played. Even if you cannot agree with our list, there is one thing we can all agree on…Las Vegas was incredible!

Why it was big: Russian House Mafiosi Swanky Tunes have been all over the place in 2011. So many of their productions are just spot-on, and their frequent collaborations with fellow Russians Hard Rock Sofa more often than not culminate in killer tracks. There’s only one day left till New Years, and as we get closer to ushering in the close of a decade, these top tracks are only getting better and better. 2010 has been a fantastic year for house music. The house veterans (read: Martin Solveig, Benny Benassi, etc.) pumped out bangers that took all comers. And we gobbled up with enthusiasm the offerings of some fresh faces, like the talented Porter Robinson. This melange of old and new has kept things fresh, putting EDM fans in an enviable position heading into the new year.

It’s a daunting task but we owe it to you to write about the best 50 songs of 2010. All countdowns are controversial, and you might disagree with some of the rankings but the Dancing Astronaut team got together and did our best job to represent your favorite songs of the year. We took many criteria into consideration such as reception on this blog, support from major DJs, success on Beatport, and of course quality of the song!
