Dancing Astronaut favorite and NYC native, David Berrie, creates an indie-dance gem out of Foster the People’s “Don’t Stop.” The sing-along chorus coupled with a light-hearted bass line works perfectly here – it’s summertime, pool party aesthetic is the perfect way to forget it’s still only February. Be sure you grab the remix for free from dBerrie’s soundcloud.

With his last original mix “Slam the Door” breaking into Beatport’s top 10 (not to mention its creepy video), Zedd is quickly making a name for himself with solid productions. Skrillex originally recorded “Breakn’ a Sweat” as part of the RE:Generation movie, which pairs up EDM artists with mainstream musicians like The Doors and Nas to recreate, remix, and re-imagine different musical genres. Zedd has put his own grungy spin on the track, crafting not one but two different versions for release. This version you can download below was released as a free tie-in to the flick, while another cut with a Jim Morrison sample will be released on Beatport. Zedd himself chimed in to let us know it’s a new mix and master, so don’t forget to check out the paid version when it comes out Tuesday. Skrillex- Breakn’ a Sweat Ft. Sander van Doorn is no stranger to success. With hits like “KoKo,” “Eagles,” and “Love is Darkness,” 20Eleve11 was certainly an exceptional year for him. Luckily, it seems as if 2012 will be an even bigger year for van Doorn. The preview of his song “Chasin’” was just released and it has all of the same star power as it’s predecessors. The bouncy synths and infectious bass line of this progressive track make it an inevitable crowd pleaser.
Swedish House Mafia’s video for “Antidote” left us a little taken aback, but now there’s a video showing some of the behind-the-scenes action. In case you were wondering how they managed to turn New York’s Provocateur nightclub into an Asian strip joint, it’s all revealed in this video. It also shows off some of the different camera equipment used to get that first-person effect in the final video, and the general antics that went down in New York’s Meatpacking district where the video was shot. Interestingly there aren’t any cameos of Steve, Seb, or Axwell whatsoever, but they weren’t in the original video either so we can’t say we’re that surprised. Check out the video above.
Chris Moody meshes a knocking dance beat with a very rock ‘n’ roll sensibility on his latest track, the aptly-named “Rock Me.” Gritty vocals from Ashtrobot give the track an harder edge, making it a welcome departure from every electro-house track out there. “Rock Me” employs EDM’s traditional build-up/drop structure, but Moody’s simple tweaks – slowing down the drums and taking the melody up an octave – makes it sound fresh. Check out the track below and buy it now from Stealth Records.

Bonus: A mash-up of Roger Sanchez and Special Features’ “Rock Me Remixes” gives the vocals a disco-house boost.

Latin house producer, Gregor Salto’s, remix of “If a Lie was Love” by Josie Cotton is dissimilar in style to many of his other tracks but not any less impressive. Salto effortlessly floats between tranquil bass lines and hard hitting drops. Meanwhile, Cotton’s sultry, delicate vocals are highlighted by squealing rhythms, sweeps, and synth cords. This is the kind of track that forces even the most passive listener to jump. For another energetic Salto song check out his collaboration with Chuckie, “What Happens in Vegas?” or if you’re in the mood for something more classically Salto try the tribal track, “Canoa.”
London’s Michael Woods has released a new preview on his own label, Diffused Music. “Airborne” delivers a melodic lead that develops into an almost spooky breakdown. The drum- and heavy bass-laden drop make the song easily transferrable from intimate settings to massive festivals. “Airborne” accurately embodies Michael Woods’ style much like the release of “Shinjuku.” If you’re a fan of his previous releases you will likely be a fan of this one as well.
Four to the floor beats be damned, sometimes high energy builds, monumental drops, and squealing synths are no match for simply great music – that’s what we have here.
Loui Rose Allen, or Foxes as she prefers to be called, is a London-based singer who is following in the footsteps of equally beautiful Brit songbird, Ellie Goulding. Her dazzling vocals beg to be remixed and, while infectiously poppy, never sacrifice their emotion or honesty. Remember her name, because we think we are going to be seeing a lot more of her in the future.
The first remix is an electro-pop gem from French producer Pyramid who lends a refreshingly fun disco-house feel to the original track.

The second remix from the little known Adventure Club, is a subtle dubstep track that opts for peaceful melodies rather than guttural wobbles.
David Dann adds to his growing repertoire with a new remix of Gotye’s “Somebody I Used to Know.” The track is markedly different from Dann’s previous effort, a remix of Angus & Julia Stone’s “Big Jet Plane.” “Somebody I Used to Know” couples sharp, spooky synths with husky vocals for an unsettling but oddly cathartic track. Technically speaking, this is progressive house, but “Somebody I Used to Know”‘s minor chord progression creates a very different effect to the euphoric major chord patterns favored by the likes of Avicii and Alesso. Props to the young Angeleno for his commitment to creativity.
Slowly but surely the pieces of Cosmic Opera are falling into place.
