Hardwell announces Spaceman Tour with 10 North American dates in 10 days

Hardwell-Spaceman-Tour

We saw Hardwell when he came to Philadelphia a few weeks back, but he’s returning to North America this February for his upcoming Spaceman Tour. Named for his most recent release, the tour will start off at Cobra Nightclub (which just so happens to share its name with another Hardwell original) in London, Ontario, before heading down to the Northeast and Las Vegas. There are ten shows in all throughout the ten day tour, so it looks like Hardwell will be working hard and playing hard for its duration. Tickets for the various shows are on sale now, so make sure to buy early if you’re interested.

Pierce Fulton – Who Wants Spaghetti? (Preview)

SONY DSC

There is a reason that we ranked Pierce at number 1 on our 2012 Top 5 Emerging Rookies List. It’s because he kicks ass. “Who Wants Spaghetti” is Pierce’s latest single that is set to be released on Cr2 Records. This rock n roll influenced progressive jam boasts an elegant bassline with some mild tech influences. The drumline spikes up the adrenaline levels and adds to the attention grabbing drop. Here at DA, we love when artists take on new styles and “Who Wants Spaghetti?” is vastly different from his “Pardon My French EP.” Thanks for backing up our ranking, Pierce,  we appreciate it.

Release Date: February 13th

Otto Knows – Million Voices (Preview)

Otto Knows

Otto Knows is fast becoming one of the top young talents in house music. Avicii and Sebastian Ingrosso are among his many fans and give a lot of support to his releases. Having just signed to Refune Records, Otto premiered his latest track on Ingrosso’s debut radio show yesterday. “Million Voices” is a melodic house tune that starts off tranquil with samples of singing children breaking up the emotional building synths, but it leads to a drop that definitely satisfies the driving club beat. We look forward to the February 8th release of the full version.

Nero – Must Be The Feeling (Delta Heavy Remix)

Delta Heavy MAIN PRESS SHOT

Nero are releasing their brand new single “Must Be The Feeling” on March 5th. Ahead of that release, UK Drumstep duo Delta Heavy, put their touches on it and let it go as a free download. The original track features a sample of 80s Detroit Disco diva Carmen and has become a huge favorite at their recent shows. In the Delta Heavy remix, the 80s vibe is still very much present, but they absolutely ramp everything up and turn it into massive dancefloor tune. We can tell that this track is absolutely going to kill it at live shows. Grab this free download here!

Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello & Alesso – Eclipse (Why Am I Doing This) [Preview]

Sebastian Ingrosso kicks off his podcast Refune Radio with a bang by announcing his newest track alongside Steve Angello and Alesso called “Eclipse (Why Am I Doing This).” It looks as if the talented Alesso has ‘replaced’ Axwell in a new age (but temporary) version of the Swedish House Mafia. “Eclipse” is easily the most acidic track released by any of SHM’s members since Steve Angello’s “Teasing Mr. Charlie.” This one should provide a heavy dose of energy when the track is available to purchase (we’ve heard of no exact release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted). We hope the release of “Eclipse” is a much easier process than the release of Masquerade Motel (Miami) tickets.

Neon Trees – Animal (Michael Brun Rework) [Preview]

DA stargazer pic

Neon Trees’ first single “Animal” peaked at number 13 on the Billboard charts, Michael Brun attempts to tackle a tough test by making a progressive remix to an insanely popular tune. Michael Brun also made our Top 5 Emerging Rookies List due to the success of his tracks “Dancing” and “Dawn.” When listening to his previous releases you can see that Michael can produce many different sounds ranging from sensitive progressive all the way to more big room stuff. 2012 will represent a big year for this up and coming producer so stay tuned to hear more from him.

Release Date: February 1st

Simon Cowell announces plans for ‘X-Factor for DJs,’ leaves us speechless

Simon Cowell x-factor

The X-Factor took America by storm late last year, and now Simon Cowell is looking to apply the same model to the world of DJing. Cowell’s Syco Entertainment company — the same one involved with that little Leona Lewis debacle — has confirmed a live, international contest to “find the world’s greatest DJs.” Cowell himself told Music Week that he’s been working on the show for over a year, and adds that “DJs are the new rock stars.” It’ll be interesting to see how this all goes down when the show finally airs, but this certainly raises more questions than it answers. What kind of music, the general format, and which judges Cowell will bring in are all still TBA, but we’ll certainly keep you posted as we hear about the situation.

Fedde Le Grand – So Much Love (Deniz Koyu Remix) (Preview)

Deniz_Koyu_Banner

Deniz Koyu has done it again. The just-posted preview of his “So Much Love” rework puts the full range of his production power on display; seriously, the man can do no wrong. “So Much Love” in its original form was an upbeat, if slightly repetitive, retro-house groove that stayed atop the Beatport charts for weeks. The remix sticks with the upbeat vibe, but also boasts a new synth melody that’s classic Koyu: instantly catchy but actually pretty multi-layered from a production standpoint. Are we gushing? Maybe. But listen to the preview and you’ll see that it’s well-deserved. The remix drops February 12th on Universal.
