Marco V follows up his last single, “Rokker,” with the latest work from his laboratory, “Analogital.” Following the same structure as Nicky Romero’s popular “Toulouse,” ”Analogital” tricks you with its melodious, progressive chords only to throw you off a cliff the second its massive drop kicks in. The distortions combined with the pounding drums make this a track that will truly make you go crazy when it’s pumped through a clubs sound system. Usually known for his trouse-ish productions, it seems looks like Marco V is taking his talents to a whole different dimension.

Dinka recently released a preview for her upcoming EP “Purple.” The EP features three tracks, “Purple,” “Here I Am,” and “Lotus.” You will notice that all three productions feature the soothing progressive bassline that has become Dinka’s staple sound. DA’s favorite out of the package happens to the the EP’s namesake due to the high pitched synths a la Swedish House Mafia. The release of the EP got delayed, so expect it at a store near you on February 20th. It is important to take note that the women of EDM are rising into prominence — Nervo, Miss Nine, and now Dinka have all given us some quality stuff in 2012.
2012 is already showing huge promise for Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom. The Swedish duo known as Dada Life have been touring the East Coast showering everyone in attendance in bananas and champagne — just see our “Behind The Booth” video if you don’t believe us. Surrender nightclub at the Wynn in Las Vegas is already home to Aoki’s House featuring Steve Aoki every Friday, but this weekend Dada Life joins in on the party, where the only rules are the rules of Dada. If the two Swedes’ previous history is anything to go by, this trip should be wild.
Three lucky winners will have the chance to meet the duo and spend the night in Dada Land. For everyone else who just wants to “Kick out the Epic Motherfucker,” head to Surrender at the Wynn this Saturday night.
Funkagenda, one of the late-night, musically tech-flavored greats in the game, will be descending upon NYC this Saturday at Electric Beach at Santos Party House. Dancing Astronaut has teamed up with the crew at Santos for what is sure to be a spectacular string of events. This weekend, one lucky winner will receive free entry, a bottle, and a table – for himself/herself and for 4 (four) equally lucky friends. And unlike most other giveaways of this kind – you won’t have to pay any gratuity either. (Note: DA does not condone being a cheapskate. You’re getting a great deal, so tip your server.) Entrants must be 21+.
We’ve got a feeling that 2012 is going to be a huge year for German Trance God Paul Van Dyk. His next album Evolution, is set to drop on March 20th and marks his first full length release since 2007′s In Between. He may have been overshadowed in recent years by the sudden wave of new talent that has flooded the scene, but what he lacks in youth he makes up for in experience. Regarded as one of the best DJs of all time, this latest release will undoubtedly convert many of the younger dance music fans to the church of PvD. ”Verano” is massive, and his decision to team up with Austin Leeds to bring a lighter side to PvD’s heavier, Berlin style was a great move. Want some pure PvD bliss? Then fast-forward to the drop at around the 2 minute mark, you won’t be disappointed.
For those of you heading down to Miami be sure to catch him at the Ice Palace in Downtown Miami on Saturday, March 24th.

Roger Sanchez and Sidney Samson have been on tour together in the past (late 2010 – early 2011), this time they take their friendship to the next level by collaborating on “Flashing Lights.” This rock n’ roll influenced progressive jam features a wide array of percussions and just enough oompf to keep your head bobbing for hours on end. The preview starts out with Roger Sanchez talking about inspiration – it catches your attention because not only is Roger’s voice the deepest voice on the planet, but it is a refreshing to see a world famous artist be down to earth with their fans. Pick up your copy of “Flashing Lights” on the 21st of February courtesy of Stealth Records.
Just in case you needed any further evidence of EDM’s mainstream success, here you go: Deadmau5 is set to perform at the Grammy’s this Sunday, where he is nominated for 3 awards of his own. This is not his first time at the proverbial rodeo, however; he expertly DJed the 2010 VMA’s — though this effort seems to be of a different vain. The mau5 will perform the Grammy’s first-ever EDM tribute alongside David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and the Foofighters in a tent outside the venue. It’s a random amalgamation of artists for sure, but the exciting performance has the potential to be monumental.
To make the experience even more noteworthy, Deadmau5 is running a contest in which 200 fans — yes, two hundred — have the chance to witness history being made. If you’re 18+, can dress to impress, and can get yourself to LA for the show, email mau5competition@gmail.com with your name, address, age, and a personal Deadmau5-related photo. We’ve got the full list of details after the break, and feel free to share your Deadmau5 photos in the comments!
You know what you are getting yourself into when you hear or see the name R3hab. Everything he touches turn into large helping of crazy. If you haven’t been to one of his shows, we implore you to attend. There is no doubt in our minds that it will be, hands down, one of the wildest nights of your life. Fadil’s energy behind the decks is so infectious that you can almost see him glowing.
The original version of Cassie’s “King Of Hearts” was intended to be a melodious and pleasant song to listen to — until R3hab got his hands on it. Now it sounds almost as if a tornado cut through the chorus and announced it’s arrival in your headphones, eardrums be damned.
You can add Otto Knows’ “Million Voices” to the list of quality tracks being released by Refune Records. We first heard an official preview of the track a few weeks ago, around when it was dropped on Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune Radio podcast. According to Pete Tong, the track was originally called “No Inspiration” because Otto was experiencing producer’s block in the studio. If this is the kind of production he creates when he’s bored, well, it’s hard to imagine what he’s capable of when inspired.
This fun progressive track brings together a chorus of children’s voices and emotional building synths. Otto is proving that he knows what he’s doing in the studio, and we have to agree with Sebastian Ingrosso who has deemed him a “young blood” set to blow up in 2012. If you’re looking for more Otto goodness, check out his remixes of “Twisted Love” and “Hide and Seek“.

Swedish House Mafia played a mashed up version of “Quasar” with “Aerodynamic” and Dirty South’s remix of “Coming Home” at both their Madison Square Garden and Roseland Ballroom shows. While this version was certainly good, it is the sort of track that can do just fine on its own. The Russian duo’s productions are proving to be top notch, and if you need more evidence of that just see their remix of “Kazantip Intro.” “Quasar” starts off slow with energetic electro-wobbles and builds up into what will be remembered as one of the hardest and most massive drops of the year. The full version is set for release on February 13th on Axtone, which is already killing it this year with monster releases such as “In My Mind” and “Resurrection.”
