Mikael Weermets gave away a few quality bootlegs for free earlier this year in order to announce the fact that he is going to take over 2012. Recently, he released a preview of his remix to “Mas Que Nada,” a song which features the steam gun sound from start to finish. They lyrics give this tune a subtle tribal house feel, something that was lost in the fray for the entirety of 2011. While no exact release date has been given, “Mas Que Nada” will be made available to purchase some time in February courtesy of Ego Records.
Ever since Cherry Coke’s release of “Milky Way” he has been on our radar. We think getting mistaken for Avicii on numerous occasions is the biggest compliment a DJ can receive. “Take It To The Top” has been floating around the web under the title “Avicii – The New Day (2012 Edit).” We know that none of these DJs in particular are ‘big names,’ but they should receive a ton of credit for coming up with a stunning production. Cherry Coke in particular should be on everyone’s radar by now and we vow to be on top of his music for the rest of eternity.

It’s been a big week in music, and we understand that sometimes things can feel a little overwhelming. With monster releases from Afrojack, Hardwell, and Tommy Trash (not to mention that little podcast from Sebastian Ingrosso), there was an absurd amount of new music this week and we’re here to help you make sense of it all. Just like last time, we’ve worked with Ultra Records to bring you the top ten most interesting tracks organized into a nice — and free — YouTube playlist, and you can listen to them by clicking the play button right above. What better way to get ready for a Friday night?
Dash Berlin has always managed to stay relevant in an industry that is constantly changing. His tracks often transcend the genre of trance and he has continued to evolve his sound for the better part of a decade. His latest offering “World Falls Apart” features Jonathan Mendelsohn, who is best known for his work alongside DA favorite, Laidback Luke (think: “Till Tonight” and “Timebomb.”) “World Falls Apart” features a moving and emotional bass line that represents what Dash Berlin is all about — audio-induced euphoria. The Beatport package also features a dub mix, so make sure you pick up your copy as soon as possible.

Make sure to mark your calendars for February 13th, as it is quickly becoming a day full of huge releases from the likes of Pierce Fulton, Gareth Emery, and Starkillers & Dmitry KO.
One of the biggest tracks to hit Beatport in two weeks is a housed-up remake of The Chemical Brothers “Galvanise,” courtesy of Starkillers & Dmitry KO.
“Don’t Hold Back” features the same legendary hook, but offers a huge drop after the roller coaster build up. Towards the end of the preview you can hear it all: wobbles, distortions, and sheer power. If you like what you see from this duo, take some time to listen to “Do You Love;” you won’t be disappointed.
The Lunde Bros follow up their release of “Saga” with a two track package that includes “If You Wanna” and “Knifeproblems.” Both of these tunes will do excellent in a club setting; let’s dive into the details below.
Lunde Bros – If You Wanna (Original Mix)
“If You Wanna” is very simple in structure; it’s bass-heavy and features the familiar bleeps that were ubiquitous in clubs two years ago. The lyrics are attention-grabbing — their sole purpose is to build up the energy until the drop is unleashed. This track will definitely cause an adequate amount of commotion on a dance floor near you.

Sidney Samson gave away his latest remix of Jennifer Lopez’s “Papi” as a free download on his Facebook page. The drop sounds like a mix between two previous Sidney productions, “The Street Is Ours” and “Surrender.” Our favorite part is the build up that accompanies Pitbull’s vocals at the 2:45 mark. Interestingly enough, JLo’s voice sounds better here than it did on the original mix, a testament to Sidney’s impeccable engineering skills. Be sure to pick up your copy below to drop in your next set.

Jeremy Olander produces progressive house in its purest form. Many of the sounds he creates are reminiscent of the style Eric Prydz employs where, rather than big drops and synth-laden build-ups, the track is delicately balanced and nuanced. In fact, Jeremy’s last major release, a remix of “Circles,” accompanied a Prydz rendition in the remix package. “The Drew” and “Animal Garden” were given away for free a few days ago on Olander’s Facebook page. Both tracks have that “carry me away” effect, but the Dancing Astronaut choice here is “Animal Garden” due to its eclectic feel.

Wolfgang Gartner released his album Weekend in America not too long ago, but he’s already back in the studio churning out more electro house beats. “There and Back” is the first of this new batch of singles, and it doesn’t disappoint. Gartner’s known for his exceptional melodies, all rendered in spooky, halting synths; that classic sound is no doubt present on “There and Back,” but the melody is particularly evocative and the claps and kick drums hit harder than ever. We’re loving everything about this one and can’t wait for it to drop. Look out for “There and Back” on Beatport January 31st, and on iTunes February 14th.
