Dada Life exudes fun. They are both full of life and most of all – energy. Dancing Astronaut got to hang out with both Stefan and Olle and watch them do everything from blowing up bananas, showering themselves with champagne, and everything in between. Remember, this was the second night in a row that they were playing at Ruby Skye and the place was at capacity. The duo had the crowd rocking from start to finish with no rest for the weary. Dada Life also mentions they have many tracks in tow for 2012, get ready to kick out the epic motherf**ker as the year progresses!
Lost in all the hoopla that was SHM at MSG, was A-Trak’s sensational opening performance. Here’s the official video showcasing his word class skills and some behind the scene moments with Jacques Lu Cont and Swedish Hosue Mafia.
Interesting little side note. It appears A-Trak, who’s long been endorsed by Serato and served as a Beta tester, has made the switch from Scratch Live to Traktor. A bit of a shocker, no?
If you don’t like bikini clad women (some aren’t even wearing bikinis) please do not click play. That being said – looks like Kazantip is one hell of a party (2012′s Kazantip will take place from July 20th – August 26th). What could be better than a huge music festival fully equipped with world famous DJs and a beach (it’s on the edge of the Black Sea)? The intro is mixed by Swanky Tunes and Hard Rock Sofa who happen to be the premier Russians in the house music scene today. Do you think an astronaut take over of this festival is in order?
Swedish producer and DJ Adrian Lux was a late addition to Pacha’s big 6th Anniversary party with Hardwell, Martin Solveig, and R3hab, but a welcome one indeed. His new single “Alive” — not to mention its various remixes — has been in heavy rotation at DA HQ lately. Besides, there was no way we could miss his very first time at Pacha. We also got to sit down with Adrian and ask him about everything from life on the road to the origins of “Teenage Crime.” Watch the video for yourselves to learn a little more about this young up-and-comer, and don’t forget to see the 5 tracks you need to know from his set if you haven’t already.
Adidas claims that nothing is impossible, however, we beg to differ. It is impossible not to like Olle and Stefan (Dada Life’s duo). These guys are fun, energetic, and most importantly - happy. “Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker” portrays all of these qualities along with a heavy dose of craziness in this funny video. Not only do you get to see what is on their shopping list (sausage included), but you travel with them behind the scenes during some of their live gigs. Be sure to pay attention because this video is loaded with guest appearances – Laidback Luke, Kaskade, Skrillex, and Chuckie all “Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker.”
NOTE:Dancing Astronaut will be present at Dada Life’s show today at Ruby Skye San Francisco. Stay tuned for our next installment of “Behind The Booth” with Stefan and Olle.
I wasn’t completely sold on the latest Arty / Mat Zo collaboration, “Mozart” at first. It just wasn’t the emotional progressive type of track that I had come to expect from the duo, but rather something that felt like an A-Trak release. Now there’s an official video to go along with the track, and it suddenly all makes sense. This track has the power to make anyone dance, and this video has the power to make you smile. I don’t want to give the whole thing away, so watch it for yourself and let us know in the comments if you agree.
PS: Did you realize that “Mozart” is a rearrangement of their names?
We tipped you off to Deadmau5′s unprecedented collaboration with Nokia, which was to take the form of an epic 4D concert in front of – and on – London’s Millbank Tower. Well, we’ve just seen a video of the 30-minute show and all we can say is… wow. Using some insane projection technology, the building’s 800 windows became an elaborate moving backdrop for Deadmau5′s set, with the animation perfectly complimenting the sounds of his tracks. Check out the video above and try not to be too jealous of the British astronauts who got to check this out live.
Dancing Astronaut got to sit down with Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano before their set at Ruby Skye. These are two of the most humble artists we have ever met bar none. Interestingly enough, while they may be funny and down to earth in person behind the scenes, they are larger than life when they take the stage. Their energy and crowd involvement is unparalleled. In this installment of Behind The Booth we discuss their plans for 2012, what happened to “Markuzza,” Ryan’s hair ‘thingy’ and everything in between.
Editors Note:Dancing Astronaut was proven wrong when we believed that the sound system created the loudest noises within the club – Sunnery’s whistle takes the 1st place award for “Most Deafening Yet Entertaining Sound.”
This is not your normal music video, it is a compilation of everyone’s interpretations of Avicii’s biggest tune – “Levels.” The interesting thing to take away from this, is the number of people that were inspired to create their own ‘version’ of this moving track. From instrumental piano renditions to douchebags resolving fights, it is safe to say that there is a place for “Levels” inside of everyone’s hearts. Watching both the promo video and the music video should throw chills down your spine, needless to say, it’s a good time to be a diehard fan of house music.
It’s a Friday folks. You may be beat from the long week or looking for a reason to go out and destroy a dancefloor later in the evening. Either way this video (taken at the luxurious XS Nightclub) has got to get your wheels churning for some fun. Whether you like Avicii’s mixing abilities or not, one thing is for certain, he takes the crowd to new heights with his productions. If you are currently in Vegas or have a trip planned for New Years Eve – your destination for the wildest night out is XS – located in the Encore Hotel.
