A Lil Peep & Marshmello collab slated for posthumous January release

Lil Peep listeners have just gotten a glimpse of one of the rapper’s last completed projects, the artist’s mother, Liza Womack, releasing the official music video for “Save That Sh*t” on Wednesday, December 20, exactly one month after Lil Peep’s passing.

“It’s been a hard time for all of us who loved Gus [Lil Peep] and we are going through the process of coming to terms with our loss,” Womack stated, “Peep would have wanted his collaborators to move forward with his plan for the release of music and visuals in 2018 as he had originally intended. So today, we are starting that process by releasing the video for ‘Save That Sh*t.’”

The next production to be posthumously debuted will be a collaboration with Marshmello, due out on January 12. A spokesperson for Lil Peep has announced that the track will arrive with a music video in tow, but did not specify whether the single and the music video would jointly release on the 12.

Marshmello was one of the first artists to respond to the news of Lil Peep’s death, remarking that the two had just talked about “working on a song together” the week prior to Peep’s overdose.

The forthcoming song will perhaps function as a hint to what the collaboration that Marshmello references might have sounded like had it come to fruition.
