Fast forward to 3:30 if you want to get straight into the action. While this may not be as tech-oriented as his tracks released alongside Manuel De La Mare, we always know that a Kenji production is worth our time. Alex’s remix of Plastic Funk and Dave Kurtis’ “Shake” has been added as a bonus below.

Electric Forest 2012 brings the likes of Bassnectar, Aoki, Zeds Dead and much more to the forests of Michigan June 28th- July 1st.

In 2008, the Rothbury Music festival hosted jam bands and thousands of campers in the forests of Rothbury, Michigan. After a year hiatus in 2010, the festival returned as Electric Forest cosponsored by Insomniac Events. As the festival evolved, so did the music. 2011 saw EDM artists like Tiësto, Kaskade, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, and Bassnectar.

The festival takes place lakeside with art installations, lights and stages set right in the forest. This year’s EDM talent includes Bassnectar, Girl Talk, Steve Aoki, Wolfgang Gartner, Ghostland Observatory, Datsik, Major Lazer, Dada Life, Big Gigantic, Zeds Dead, Gramatik, Alvin Risk, AutoErotique, and The M Machine. At $242.50 tickets are not cheap – but how many festivals are four days and come with a parking spot. This years dates are right before Independence Day, June 28th to July first. Although the number of festivals in the United States is ever increasing, Electric Forest remains different enough to warrant adding it to your summer travel plans.

LMFAO joins Madonna amidst Superbowl halftime show, premiers new mashup

Madonna began her half-time procession with all the necessary pomp: legions of sculpted Trojan warriors, their accouterments encrusted with gold and glitz, pulled her mammoth platform to the stage. She emerged in a golden robe, quickly shed for a plated skirt, and appeared ready to do battle.

But what Twitterverse is already exploding about is the simultaneous pairing of LMFAO and the pop queen in performance. It was almost absurd; Madonna straddling the shoulders of a zebra-clad (and similarly skirted) Redfoo, both with perfect poise. But they seem to have pulled it off. The beginnings of LMFAO’s ubiquitous “Party Rock Anthem” emerged, layered atop Madonna’s “Music” in a pop-friendly mashup.

We noted earlier that Avicii’s inclusion in the Bud Light Platinum commercial marked a paradigm shift in the way EDM artists appeared in the mainstream. Tim Bergling wouldn’t be the only EDM act the folks at Anheuser-Busch featured today. Viewers of another of Bud Light’s half-time commercials saw LMFAO featured in a similar way, in a different commercial.

With his last original mix “Slam the Door” breaking into Beatport’s top 10 (not to mention its creepy video), Zedd is quickly making a name for himself with solid productions. Skrillex originally recorded “Breakn’ a Sweat” as part of the RE:Generation movie, which pairs up EDM artists with mainstream musicians like The Doors and Nas to recreate, remix, and re-imagine different musical genres. Zedd has put his own grungy spin on the track, crafting not one but two different versions for release. This version you can download below was released as a free tie-in to the flick, while another cut with a Jim Morrison sample will be released on Beatport. Zedd himself chimed in to let us know it’s a new mix and master, so don’t forget to check out the paid version when it comes out Tuesday.

Avicii is featured prominently in Bud Light's Super Bowl advertisesment — not only providing the soundtrack, but also getting a cameo on-air as well.

We can say things like “EDM has gone mainstream” until we’re blue in the face, but honestly, this is on a whole different level. Rumors have been swirling of an Avicii Super Bowl commercial, and the leaked Bud Light Platinum Lager ad below confirms that the Swede will be getting some airtime during today’s game. Not only is “Levels” the soundtrack to the ad which focuses on mixing business with pleasure, but Tim himself is seen spinning at the hipster loft it’s set in. It’s completely insane how fast Avicii has risen in the past year, and it’s even more amazing that such a huge company like Anheuser-Busch was avant garde enough to put him in its ad. Still, we’re thrilled to see Tim getting the recognition he deserves, and it just might be the secret weapon to get young people drinking this beer.

Swedish House Mafia’s video for “Antidote” left us a little taken aback, but now there’s a video showing some of the behind-the-scenes action. In case you were wondering how they managed to turn New York’s Provocateur nightclub into an Asian strip joint, it’s all revealed in this video. It also shows off some of the different camera equipment used to get that first-person effect in the final video, and the general antics that went down in New York’s Meatpacking district where the video was shot. Interestingly there aren’t any cameos of Steve, Seb, or Axwell whatsoever, but they weren’t in the original video either so we can’t say we’re that surprised. Check out the video above.
